Roger Blades
Roger Blades (25 May 1963 – 16 February 2022) was a Barbadian policeman and cricketer. He served in the Bermuda Police Service and represented the Bermuda national cricket team as a fast-medium bowler in the 1990s. Blades attended Combermere School. He debuted for St Catherine in the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) first division in 1982. He moved to Bermuda for work reasons in 1989 and joined the Police club. He also played for Somerset in the Cup Match between 1994 and 1996, making 58 on debut from ninth in the batting order. In the 1996 Cup Match he notoriously sent St. George's batsmen Glenn Blakeney and Eugene Foggo to hospital with head injuries inside the first hour of the match. Barbados
Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of the Americas, and the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands. Windward Islands Cricket Team
The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League (including the NAGICO Regional Super50) under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes. It includes the islands that were known as the British Windward Islands except for Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, who have their own teams. Thus, it includes Dominica (technically one of the Leeward Islands, but as it was part of the Windward Islands colony from 1940 until independence, its cricket federation remains a part of the Windward Islands), Grenada, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Bridgetown
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Q.E.H.) is located in Barbados' capital city Bridgetown, which is located in the parish of Saint Michael. The hospital is the main General Hospital for the southern part of the island. The hospital can perform most surgeries, and specialized care includes the areas of: gynaecology, paediatrics, obstetrics, cardiac surgery, plastic surgery, psychotherapy, radiology, radiography and ophthalmology. The Q.E.H. boasts also having a series of operating theaters. The Q.E.H. is a 600-bed complex lying in the Eastern section of Bridgetown, located on the southeast bank of the Constitution River. The Carlsberg Group, Carlsberg 1997 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between 24 March and 13 April 1997. It was the Cricket World Cup qualification tournament for the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
