Rodney Colin Williams (born April 25, 1977) is an American former gridiron football punter. College career Williams, who played from 1995 to 1998, left Georgia Tech as the school's career leader in punting average at 41.1 yards a kick. A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snap (gridiron football), snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then Punt (gridiron football), punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they forward pass, throw or rush (gridiron football), run the football instead of punting. Pressley Harvin III (born September 17, 1998) is an American football punter for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia Tech, where he received unanimous All-American honors and won the Ray Guy Award as the nation's top collegiate punter as a senior. He was drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Early life and high school Harvin was born and grew up in Alcolu, South Carolina. As a youth, he played football as an offensive lineman and volunteered to become the punter for his middle school team in seventh grade.
