Rod Oborne
Rodney Charles Oborne (born 6 September 1953) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood and Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Oborne, a left-footed half forward flanker, was recruited from Marist Brothers College, in Burnie, Tasmania. Making his senior debut in the 1972 VFL season, Oborne kicked 39 goals in 1973, the second most for his club behind Peter McKenna, and was also the only Collingwood player to appear in all 24 games. He continued to be regularly selected in the team until the 1975 VFL season, when injuries restricted him to just three games. He spent the 1977 season in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL), playing for Claremont, having been involved in a trade which saw Claremont star Kevin Worthington arrive at Collingwood. Devonport ( ; Palawa Kani: ''Tiagarra'') is a city in northern Tasmania, Australia, located on the lands of the Pannilerpanner clan of the Palawa nation. It is situated at the mouth of the Mersey River. Devonport had an urban population of 26,150 at the 2021 Australian census. Brad Oborne (born 19 June 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Australian Football League (AFL). The 35th selection from the 1998 AFL draft, Oborne was secured by Collingwood under the father–son rule, as his father Rod Oborne had played for the club in the 1970s. He was drafted from TAC Cup side the Preston Knights, having earlier played with Montmorency. AFL Canberra is the name of the local governing body for and premier competition of Australian rules football in the Australian Capital Territory (and the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales). Ainslie Football Club
Ainslie Football Club is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory. The club formed in 1927 and won its first premiership in 1929. Ex- St Kilda star Kevin Neale was captain-coach for six seasons (1978–1983), during which time Ainslie won four premierships: 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983. In 1984 Ex-Collingwood and Richmond player Rod Oborne captain-coached the club, winning the 1984 premiership. The club was also coached by former VFL/AFL great David Cloke. Chris Rourke coached Ainslie for 14 years from 2007-2020 taking the club to six premierships during that period. The club entered the NEAFL for the competition's inaugural season in 2011 - finishing the year as Eastern Conference premiers.
