''Lovely to Look At'' is an Australian fashion show television series broadcast on Melbourne station GTV (Australian TV station), GTV-9 from March 1957 to November 1957. Episodes were 15-minutes in duration, broadcast live, originally aired at 10:15PM on Sundays though towards the end of the run the episodes were broadcast at 10:30PM. Each episode typically was preceded on the schedule by a newscast and followed by ''Epilogue'' and station sign-off. It is notable as representing an early effort by GTV-9 at locally produced content. It was compered by Maxwell Gibb. The series was directed by Rod Kinnear, who had previously been a press photographer. ''The Age'' provides additional information on the series, listing Ian Holmes as technical director, and George Havrillay as set designer, and noting that each episode went through three rehearsals before broadcast. ''Barley Charlie'' was an Australian television sitcom which aired in 1964. It was the second television sitcom produced in Australia; being preceded by the 1957-1959 series ''Take That (TV series), Take That'', although that Crawford Productions sitcom had only aired in Melbourne. Some of the creatives went on to be involved in the serial drama ''Undercurrent (Australian TV series), Undercurrent'' (1965). Overview ''Barley Charlie'' aired for 13 episodes, produced by GTV (Australia), GTV-9 and also shown on other stations across Australia. Though short-lived, the series was a ratings success. ''In Melbourne Tonight'', also known as ''IMT'', was a highly popular nightly Logie award-winning Australian variety television show produced at GTV-9 Melbourne from 6 May 1957 to 1970. Overview Graham Kennedy was the show's main host and star attraction, but other presenters were often called on to present the show on certain nights. ''In Melbourne Tonight'' had as many as 50 different presenters over its 13 years on air. The format of the show was inspired by the American ''Tonight Show'' on NBC, but Kennedy's exuberant charisma was the key to the success of ''IMT''. ''The One Day of the Year'' is a 1958 Australian play by Alan Seymour about contested attitudes to Anzac Day. Plot Alf’s son Hughie and his girlfriend Jan plan to document Anzac Day for the university newspaper, focusing on the drinking on Anzac Day. For the first time in his life Hughie refuses to attend the dawn service with Alf. When he watches the march on television at home with his mother and Wacka, he is torn between outrage at the display and love for his father.
