Rod Bransgrove
Roderick Granville 'Rod' Bransgrove (born 1950) is an English entrepreneur, cricket administrator and the current chairman of Hampshire County Cricket Club. A position he has held since being elected to the post in 2000, a move seen by many as saving Hampshire from insolvency. His daughter, Lucy, is married to the Hampshire cricketer, Chris Wood. Personal life Bransgrove's father served in the Royal Air Force, meaning he was brought up in a number of places, including abroad in Singapore and at home in London and Kent. Business career Bransgrove moved to Hampshire in 1985, when he was 35, to set up his pharmaceutical business, Imperial Pharmaceuticals Services. Hampshire County Cricket Club
Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Hampshire originally played at the Antelope Ground, Southampton until 1885 when they relocated to the County Ground, Southampton until 2000, before moving to the purpose-built Rose Bowl in West End, which is in the Borough of Eastleigh. Chris Wood (cricketer)
Christopher Philip Wood (born 27 June 1990) is an English first-class cricketer. He currently plays for Hampshire. Wood is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm medium pace. Wood has represented the England U-19 cricket team, playing two Youth Test matches, nine Youth One Day Internationals, and a single Youth Twenty20 International. Wood made his first-class debut for Hampshire against Oxford University at University Parks, Oxford in the 2010 English cricket season. During the match, Wood took his maiden five wicket haul with figures of 5/54. He made his List-A debut against Warwickshire on 14 May in the 2010 Clydesdale Bank 40. Wood scored his second first-class fifty against Worcestershire at New Road on 12/09/13. He shared an 81 run seventh wicket partnership with youngster Sean Terry. The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force. The Ageas Bowl
The Rose Bowl, known for sponsorship reasons as Ageas Bowl is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End, Hampshire. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, who have played there since 2001. It was constructed as a replacement for the County Ground in Southampton and also the United Services Recreation Ground in Portsmouth, which had been Hampshire's homes since 1882. Hampshire played their inaugural first-class match at the ground against Worcestershire on 9–11 May 2001, with Hampshire winning by 124 runs. The ground has since hosted international cricket, including One Day Internationals, matches in the 2004 Champions Trophy, two Twenty20 Internationals and Test matches in 2011, 2014 and 2018, when England played Sri Lanka and India.
