Rocky Rasley
Rocky Rasley (born April 27, 1947) is a former American football guard in the National Football League from 1969–1970, 1972–1976. He attended Bakersfield's South High School and Bakersfield College before enrolling at Oregon State University where he played college football under Dee Andros during the "Giant Killers" season of 1967. The entire 1967 squad was later inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame. Rasley was also inducted into the Bob Elias Kern County Sports Hall of Fame. Rasley was one of five Beavers selected in the 1969 NFL Draft, and was selected in the ninth round (216th overall) by the Detroit Lions. He played with the Lions for the 1969 and 1970 seasons, was on the Lions' taxi-squad during 1971, and rejoined the team for the 1972 and 1973 seasons. He then went to the New Orleans Saints for a season, followed by a season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. Guards are automatically considered ineligible receivers, so they cannot intentionally touch a forward pass, unless it is to recover a fumble or is first touched by a defender or eligible receiver. The Oregon State Beavers football team represents Oregon State University in NCAA Division I FBS college football. The team first fielded an organized football team in 1893 and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Jonathan Smith has been the head coach since November 29, 2017. Their home games are played at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon. Oregon State Beavers Wrestling
The Oregon State Beavers wrestling program was established in 1909, competing in collegiate wrestling across 95 seasons since then. Traditionally a national powerhouse, the Beavers won the Amateur Athletic Union national championship in 1926 (Oregon State's first national championship in any sport) and have won their conference championship 52 times. The team has produced 99 All-Americans, 12 individual national champions, and is associated with five National Wrestling Hall of Fame members. The team has finished their season ranked in the NCAA top 25 on 43 occasions, including finishing 20 seasons in the top 10 and two seasons as national runners-up. Aleksandr Medved
Aleksandr Vasiliyevich Medved (born 16 September 1937) is a Ukrainian-born Soviet Belarusian retired freestyle wrestler who competed for the Soviet Union and was named "one of the greatest wrestlers in history" by FILA, the sport's governing body. Between 1962 and 1972 he won three Olympic gold medals, seven world and three European titles. He served as the Olympic flag bearer for the Soviet Union in 1972, for Belarus in 2004 and recited the Judge's Oath at the Opening Ceremony of the 1980 Olympics.
