''Rocking Horse'' is the third solo album from singer-songwriter Kelli Ali and was released through One Little Indian Records on 24 November 2008 in the United Kingdom. The album was produced by Max Richter, producer of Vashti Bunyan's album, ''Lookaftering'', composer of '' The Blue Notebooks'' and winner of the European Film Academy Award for his score on Waltz with Bashir. The album has been compared to Goldfrapp's album ''Seventh Tree''. The album's cover artwork is by Steven Wilson. Kelli Ali
Kelli Ali, also known as Kelli Dayton (born 30 June 1974), is a British vocalist, who was formerly the lead singer of the trip hop group Sneaker Pimps before going on to a solo career. Career Before Sneaker Pimps, Ali was part of a group called Psycho Drama, which she joined when she was 16 years old. A few years later, she was asked by Russell Cross of the band The Lumieres to join his band (as their songwriter, singer, and lead guitarist). The Lumieres only had one major single, "Cinder Hearts". With Sneaker Pimps she was featured prominently in both the songs and the music videos for the album ''Becoming X'' (the group finding fame following the release of the hit single " 6 Underground"). Ali was released from the group in 1998 when they decided to do vocals for their own songs. After leaving Sneaker Pimps, she moved on to a solo career under the name Kelli Ali after her father who had passed away before the release of ''Becoming X''. ''Lookaftering'' is the second studio album by Vashti Bunyan. It was released via FatCat Records on October 17, 2005. It is the follow-up to 1970's '' Just Another Diamond Day''. Reception At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, ''Lookaftering'' received an average score of 85% based on 21 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim". Thom Jurek of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, calling it "a gorgeously considered, stunningly and sensitively crafted album by an artist who is truly outside of all fashion, all time, and even space." He added, "Without the technological trappings, this album, timeless and spaceless as it is, could have been made 300 years ago, but that it was made in the 21st century blesses you even more." Ruth Morley (November 19, 1925 – February 12, 1991) was an Austrian-born American costume designer, active from the late 1950s through 1991. She was nominated for Best Costumes-Black and White for her work on ''The Miracle Worker'' during the 35th Academy Awards. She is also well known for her work on '' Annie Hall''. Ms. Morley's stage work began in 1951, with "Billy Bud." Other Broadway productions included "Death of a Salesman," starring Dustin Hoffman, as well as "A Thousand Clowns," "Toys in the Attic," "Inherit the Wind," and "Take a Giant Step,".
