The Rockford Raptors were an American soccer team based in Rockford, Illinois. The team began in the USISL and moved to the USISL Pro League in 1995. In 1999, the team was relegated to the Premier Development League. The Raptors are now a soccer club for boys and girls U8-U19. Rock River Raptors
The Rock River Raptors were a professional indoor football team based in Rockford, Illinois. The team was most recently a member of the Continental Indoor Football League. The franchise was established in 2000 as the Tennessee Valley Vipers, a charter member of af2. The franchise was based at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2005, the franchise moved to United Indoor Football as the Tennessee Valley Raptors, to accommodate the Vipers' af2 return to Huntsville, as which point the team owner Art Clarkson announced that the franchise would relocate to Rockford. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. Jorge Espinoza is a retired professional soccer player from Chile who played in the Major Indoor Soccer League and National Professional Soccer League. He also coached at the high school, collegiate and professional levels including two games with the San Jose Clash of Major League Soccer in 1999. Player From 1972 to 1979, Espinoza played for Colo Colo in Chile. In 1979, he moved to the United States and signed with the Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League. Over three seasons with the Sting, Espinoza was hampered by knee injuries and did not crack the first team. In 1981, he moved to the Memphis Americans in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Glen Tourville
Glen Tourville is a retired American soccer player and former coach. Player Tourville attended the Eastern Illinois University where he played on the men's soccer team in 1978 and 1979. In 1979, the Panthers went to the NCAA Men's Division II Soccer Championship where they lost to Alabama A&M. Financial difficulties led him to drop out of school. In the fall of 1980, he entered the University of Illinois at Chicago where he played on the men's soccer team for two seasons. The Dallas Tornado drafted Tourville in the 1982 NASL draft, but the team folded before the season began. He then attended several open tryouts, gaining a contract with the Dallas Americans of the American Soccer League. He later played for the Oklahoma City Stampede and Houston Dynamos of the United Soccer League. In 1987, the Dynamos played in the Lone Star Soccer Alliance.
