The Rockettes
The Rockettes are an American precision dance company. Founded 1925 in St. Louis, they have, since , performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Until 2015, they also had a touring company. They are best known for starring in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, an annual Christmas show, and for performing annually since 1957 at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. There have been over 3,000 women who have performed as Rockettes since the New York Christmas Spectacular opening night in 1933. The Rockettes also conduct the Rockette Summer Intensive for dancers aspiring to be Rockettes. History Early years The Rockettes were originally inspired by the Tiller Girls, a precision dance company of the United Kingdom established by John Tiller in the 1890s. Rockettes (synchronized Skating Team)
Helsinki Rockettes are a senior-level synchronized skating team from Helsinki, Finland, representing the figure skating club Helsingin Taitoluisteluklubi. They are one of the most successful teams in the world with three World Championships (2008, 2010 and 2011) and they are ten-time Finnish champions (across 1991–2012). Helsinki Rockettes claimed their first World Championships medal, silver, in 2001. They won another silver medal as well as two bronze medals before capturing their first World title in 2008. Rockette Morton
Rockette Morton (born Mark Boston; July 14, 1949 in Salem, Illinois) is an American musician, best known as a bassist and guitarist for Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band in the 1960s and 1970s. Career In 1963, after moving to Lancaster, California, Boston joined up with future Magic Band member Bill Harkleroad (aka Zoot Horn Rollo) in a band named B.C. & the Cavemen. He was given the nickname "Rockette Morton" by Captain Beefheart after becoming a member of the Magic Band. Morton played on five of Beefheart's albums: ''Trout Mask Replica'' (produced by Frank Zappa in 1969), '' Lick My Decals Off Baby'' (1970), '' The Spotlight Kid'' (1972), '' Clear Spot'' (1972) and ''Unconditionally Guaranteed'' (1974). He originally played bass, but switched to rhythm guitar after former Little Feat bassist Roy Estrada joined the band.
