Rockdale County High School
Rockdale County High School is located in the heart of Conyers, Georgia, United States, in the old-town district. RCHS is one of three high schools located in Rockdale County, along with Heritage High School, and Salem High School. RCHS also hosts the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, which is sponsored by Georgia Tech. The school's mascot is the Bulldog. Approximately 2,100 students are enrolled. Athletics Rockdale County High School is a part of the GHSA in Region 3-AAAAAA. In the 2008-2009, RCHS won Fox 5's High 5 Sports Team of the Week award twice, the first school ever to do so. The hand-shaped trophies were awarded to the football and wrestling teams. Fine arts The school is a Grammy School of Excellence. The literary team won the regional title in 2003, and the boys' quartet won the state title. IAAF World Youth Championships In Athletics
The IAAF U18 Championships in Athletics (until 2015 known as IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics) was a global athletics event comprising track and field events for competitors who were 17 or younger (youth = Under-18). The event was organized by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It was held biennially from 1999 to 2017. The name change and cancellation In the 206th IAAF Council Meeting, held after the 2016 Summer Olympics, the council decided to conclude the world championship for under-18 athletes after the 2017 event. Candace Hill
Candace Kathryn Hill (born February 11, 1999) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres. She graduated from Rockdale County High School. She became the world's first high school woman to break the 11-second barrier clocking 10.98 in the 100 meters sprint at the 2015 Brooks PR Invitational on 21 June 2015 in Shoreline, Washington, United States. Her mark, quickly ratified, is the world youth best, the terminology for world record among athletes before the year of their 18th birthday. Since the mark was set outside of the sanctioned NFHS season, the mark is not eligible for the NFHS High School Record. The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston. Neville Hewitt (born April 6, 1993) is an American football linebacker for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Marshall, where he was a safety and linebacker. Hewitt signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2015. College career Hewitt spent the first 2 years of his college football career at the junior college level, playing for Georgia Military College. In 2012, he recorded 65 tackles, five tackles for loss and five pass breakups for Georgia Military. He then transferred to Marshall where he spent 2 years playing for the Herd. George Runie "Buck" Farmer (born February 20, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Football Program represents the Georgia Institute of Technology in the NCAA Division 1 Collegiate Competitors in the sport of American football. Geoff Collins (American Football)
William Geoffrey Collins (born April 10, 1971) is an American football coach and former player. Collins was the head coach at Georgia Tech from December 7, 2018, to September 25, 2022. He was previously the head coach at Temple University, and had served in the past as defensive coordinator for the University of Florida and Mississippi State University.
