Rock Rail
Rock Rail is a British rolling stock company (ROSCO). It was established by Rock Infrastructure in 2014, and was structured as a subsidiary of the firm during July 2016. Rock Rail signed its first rail leasing deal for 25 Siemens Mobility-built Class 717 with train operator Govia Thameslink Railway in February 2016. This was promptly followed by a large order for 58 Stadler-built Class 745 and Class 755 multiple units for Abellio Greater Anglia. In the following years, numerous other leasing arrangements and strategic partnerships have come about between Rock Rail and other organisations, including South Western Railway, Avanti West Coast, and East Midlands Railway; the company has come to comprise roughly 40 percent of all new rolling stock orders in the UK rail market at times. In modern politics, and history, a parliament is a legislative body of government. ''Modern Railways'' is a British monthly magazine covering the rail transport industry which was published by Ian Allan until March 2012, and Key Publishing since then. It has been published since 1962. The magazine was originally based in Shepperton, Middlesex. It has always been targeted at both railway professionals and serious amateurs, an aim which derives from its origins as an amalgamation of the enthusiast magazine ''Trains Illustrated'' and the industry journal ''The Locomotive'' in the hands of its first editor Geoffrey Freeman Allen. It is currently edited by Philip Sherratt after the retirement of James Abbott. Regular contributors include Roger Ford, Ian Walmsley, Alan Williams and Tony Miles. British Rail Class 810
The British Rail Class 810 ''Aurora'' is a type of bi-mode multiple unit being constructed by Hitachi Rail for East Midlands Railway. Based on the Hitachi AT300 design, 33 five-car units are being built to replace Class 180 and Class 222 units on EMR's intercity routes. Background In July 2012, it was announced by Network Rail that the Midland Main Line (MML) would be electrified north of Bedford, allowing the diesel trains currently used on the route by to be replaced with new electric trains. However, electrification was paused by Network Rail in June 2015, and then cancelled in July 2017 by then-Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling, who made the decision to use bi-mode trains on the MML instead. British Rail Class 701
The British Rail Class 701 ''Aventra'' is a class of electric multiple unit passenger train being built for South Western Railway (SWR) by Bombardier Transportation and later Alstom at Derby Litchurch Lane Works. They will enter service on the Reading, Windsor and South West London suburban lines. Built on the Alstom Aventra platform, they are branded as Arterio trains by SWR.
