Rock On Honorable Ones!!
''Rock On Honorable Ones!!'' is the second studio album by American rock band Bowling for Soup. The title is a reference to the slogan of S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Bowling for Soup hails from. Based on the practice of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas (subject of '' Friday Night Lights''), which is nicknamed "MOJO," Rider High adopted the slogan "ROHO" in the 1960s. Rider's sports teams are called the "Raiders," and Rider students are informed that "ROHO" stands for "Ride On Honorable Ones." This is the only Bowling For Soup album to include a horn section. Production and recording In summer of 1996 the band announced in a newsletter that they were "busy recording tracks for their third CD and were shooting for a spring '97 release." Bowling for Soup (abbreviated as BFS) is an American rock band formed in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1994. The band consists of Jaret Reddick (lead vocals, guitar), Chris Burney (guitar, backing vocals), Gary Wiseman (drums, percussion, backing vocals), and Rob Felicetti (bass, backing vocals, acoustic guitar). The band is best known for its singles "Girl All the Bad Guys Want", " 1985", "Almost" and "High School Never Ends". Denton is a city in and the county seat of Denton County, Texas, United States. Jive Records was an American independent record label founded by Clive Calder in 1981 as a subsidiary to the Zomba Group. In the US, the label had offices in New York City and Chicago. Jaret Ray Reddick is an American musician, singer, songwriter, composer, podcaster and actor, best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Bowling for Soup. As a voice actor, Reddick is known for his work on ''Phineas and Ferb'', and he is also the current voice of Chuck E. Cheese. Only 2,100 copies of the album were released and the album is currently out of print. Bowling for Soup frontman Jaret Reddick considers this album to be the band's second studio album. ''Tell Me When to Whoa'' is an EP by Bowling for Soup released in June 1998, and later re-released in 1999, on the local Denton music label FFROE. The album is currently out of print. The band released digitally remastered versions of ''Bowling for Soup'', '' Cell Mates'', and ''Tell Me When to Whoa'' through iTunes and Amazon.com in October 2011. It is the last studio recording by the band to feature Lance Morrill on drums. Production and recording In a August 24, 1998 band newsletter, it was announced that the band would again work with Jeff Roe recording in Denton, Texas and record at Reel Time Audio and release a new album titled "Tell Me When To Whoa" through FFROE Records. This would be the last album to feature drummer Lance Morrill who in January 1998 got married and by mid 1999 decided to move on with life and would soon quit the band.
