Rock, Pretty Baby
''Rock, Pretty Baby'' is a 1956 American comedy musical film directed by Richard Bartlett and starring Sal Mineo, John Saxon and Luana Patten. Plot Young musician Jimmy Daley (Saxon) needs to come up with $300 to purchase the electric guitar he wants. He pawns his law books, to the disappointment of his father (Platt), a doctor whose goal is for Jimmy to become a lawyer. Jimmy's jealous nature results in a ruckus at a party and $150 in damage to a neighbor, which Dr. Daley insists his son pay. His girlfriend Joan Wright (Patten) learns that a battle of the bands has a cash prize. Jimmy and his group end up losing the contest, but he earns the respect of his dad. Richard Bartlett
Richard H. Bartlett (8 November 1922 – 11 June 1994), also known as Dick Bartlett, was an American film director, director and film producer, producer in film and TV. He also acted and wrote. He is best known for his low budget features in the 1950s and his television work in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1956 he teamed up with Norman Jolley to form Bartlett-Jolley Productions. With Jolley writing, Bartlett directing and both men producing, they made eight movies for Universal-International within two years and worked on critically acclaimed segments of "Wagon Train" and later ''Cimarron City''. Walter Reed (actor)
Walter Reed (born Walter Reed Smith, February 10, 1916 – August 20, 2001) was an American stage, film and television actor. Biography Reed was born in 1916 in Fort Ward, Washington. Following a stint as a Broadway actor, Reed broke into films in 1941. He appeared in several features for RKO Radio Pictures, including the last two ''Mexican Spitfire'' comedies (in which Reed replaced Buddy Rogers as the Spitfire's husband). Perhaps his most memorable role was as the spineless wagon driver husband of Gail Russell in the western '' Seven Men from Now''. Reed also appeared in the very first Superman theatrical feature film ''Superman and the Mole Men'' in 1951. ''Summer Love'' is a 1958 black-and-white American musical comedy film directed by Charles F. Haas, written by William Raynor and Herbert H. Margolis, and starred John Saxon, Jill St. John, Judi Meredith, and Molly Bee. It was double billed with '' The Big Beat'' and is a sequel to the 1956 film ''Rock, Pretty Baby''. Plot Jimmy Daley and his band mates, Mike and Ox, land a performing date in Lake Tahoe, California. His father, a doctor, gives his approval, although he is concerned about Jimmy neglecting his education for music.
