Rocco Scotellaro
Rocco Scotellaro (19 April 1923 – 15 December 1953) was an Italian poet, writer and politician. Life and career Born in Tricarico, in the Province of Matera, the son of a shoemaker and a homemade seamstress, Scotellaro studied law at the Universities of Rome, Naples and Bari without graduating, as the early death of his father forced him to return to his hometown.Vitelli, Franco (2018).Scotellaro, Rocco. Tricarico
Tricarico ( nap, label= Lucano, Trëcàrëchë ; ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Matera, Basilicata, southern Italy. It is home to one of the best preserved medieval historical centres in Lucania. Etymology The origin of the name Tricarico is unknown. It might derive from the Greek ''treis'' ("three") and ''cara'' (''head''/''skull'' in Hellenistic-era Greek: η κάρα, τό κάρα, η κάρη). That is "''having three heads''". According to a slightly different hypothesis, it could have originally been ''Triacricon'', deriving from the Greek words '' tria''/''treis'' and ''acron''/''acra'', which during Antiquity and Early Middle Ages meant both an "apex/summit", and a "citadel", with ''Triacricon'' thus meaning a city made by connecting "''three citadels''". Rai 2 is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana. Bruno Cirino
Bruno Cirino (25 October 1936 – 17 April 1981) was an Italian actor and stage director. Life and career Born Bruno Cirino Pomicino in Naples, Cirino abandoned his studies in law to enroll the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome. After graduating, in 1961 he started his career on stage, notably working with Franco Zeffirelli, Eduardo De Filippo, Giorgio De Lullo and Orazio Costa. In the 1970s he founded the theatrical company Teatroggi, also serving as a stage director. Starting from the late 1960s Cirino was also active in films and on television, particularly getting a large critical acclaim for his performance in Vittorio De Seta's ''Diary of a Schoolteacher'' (1972). He died prematurely at the age of 44, after suffering a heart attack while he was driving his car on the way back from a theatrical tour. Rocco And His Brothers
''Rocco and His Brothers'' ( it, Rocco e i suoi fratelli) is a 1960 drama film directed by Luchino Visconti and starring Alain Delon, Annie Girardot, Renato Salvatori, Katina Paxinou, Roger Hanin, Paolo Stoppa, and Claudia Cardinale in one of her early roles. Set in 1960 Milan, it tells the story of a migrant family from southern Italy and its disintegration in the society of the industrial north. Luchino Visconti di Modrone, Count of Lonate Pozzolo (; 2 November 1906 – 17 March 1976) was an Italian filmmaker, stage director, and screenwriter. A major figure of Italian art and culture in the mid-20th century, Visconti was one of the fathers of cinematic neorealism, but later moved towards luxurious, sweeping epics dealing with themes of beauty, decadence, death, and European history, especially the decay of the nobility and the bourgeoisie.
