Roc Riggio
Roc Jack Riggio (born June 11, 2002) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the New York Yankees organization. He played college baseball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball, Oklahoma State Cowboys. Career Riggio began playing for the USA Baseball when he was 11 years old. After playing as a catcher, third baseman, and outfielder, Riggio worked with retired Major League Baseball (MLB) shortstop Jack Wilson (shortstop), Jack Wilson to become a second baseman, first by taking thousands of ground balls on his own, and later training with Wilson's son, shortstop Jacob Wilson (shortstop), Jacob Wilson. Grace Jr./Sr. High School (Grace) is a co-educational, college-preparatory Christian school in Simi Valley, California serving grades 7–12. The school is one of three campuses in Simi Valley comprising Grace School, the others being an elementary school (grades K—6) and a preschool. The Chatham Anglers, more commonly referred to as the Chatham A's and formerly the Chatham Athletics, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Chatham, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. Chatham plays its home games at historic Veteran's Field, Veterans Field, the team's home since 1923, in the town of Chatham on the Lower Cape. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament
The 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was the 75th edition of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 64-team tournament began on Friday, June 3 as part of the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season and concluded with the 2022 Men's College World Series, 2022 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which started on June 17 and ended on June 27. 2021 MLB Draft
The 2021 Major League Baseball draft took place on July 11–13, 2021. In conjunction with the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the draft was held in Denver. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order was set based on the reverse order of the 2020 MLB season standings. In addition, compensation picks were distributed for players who did not sign from the 2020 MLB draft and for teams who lost qualifying free agents. On March 26, 2020, MLB and the MLBPA reached a deal that included the option to halve the draft to 20 rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MLB ultimately opted to shorten the draft to 20 rounds. The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a document used to indicate a student athlete's commitment to participating in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) colleges and universities in the United States. The NCAA Eligibility Center manages the daily operations of the NLI program while the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) provides governance oversight of the program. Started in 1964 with seven conferences and eight independent institutions, the program included 676 Division I and II participating institutions through the 2023–24 school year.
