''A Quiet End'' is a 1985 play written by American author Robin Swados (born 1953). It explores the lives of three gay men, all suffering from HIV/AIDS, who share an apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side. ''A Quiet End'' was one of the first plays to address the AIDS epidemic, receiving productions both in the U.S. and internationally, and is widely considered "groundbreaking" for this reason. It is one of only fifteen plays that directly falls under Wikipedia's classification of HIV/AIDS in theatre, and one of only five to run in a Broadway/off-Broadway production. Simon Harvey
Simon Harvey is an actor, freelance director and producer based in Truro, Cornwall. He was resident Associate Director for Kneehigh Theatre and Artistic Director of o-region, a theatre and film production company. He has produced and directed the original shows ''Laughing Gas'' by (Nick Darke and Carl Grose) and ''One Darke Night''. He also produced and performed in ''Superstition Mountain'' by Carl Grose. Harvey attended Richard Lander School in Truro and graduated from Dartington College of Arts now Falmouth University in 1997 where he also now teaches. The International City Theatre (ICT) in Long Beach, California, is a professional, non-profit theatre company located in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. Shashin Desai Shashin Desai was the founding artistic director of ICT. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and holds two master's degrees from USC.
