Robin Soans
Robin Soans (born 20 June 1946) is a British actor, and a playwright specialising in verbatim and documentary plays. These plays include ''Across the Divide'' (2007); ''A State Affair'' (2000) which looked at life on a Bradford estate, produced by Out of Joint Theatre Company; ''The Arab Israeli Cookbook'' (Gate Theatre 2004); ''Talking to Terrorists'' (Out of Joint theatre company and Royal Court Theatre); ''Life After Scandal'' (Hampstead Theatre); and ''Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage'' (Out of Joint theatre company, National Theatre Wales, Arcola Theatre, and Sherman Theatre, Sherman Cymru). Out Of Joint Theatre Company
Out of Joint is a British and international touring theatre company based in London. It specialises in the commissioning and production of new writing, interspersed with occasional revivals and classic productions. It was founded in 1993 by director Max Stafford-Clark and producer Sonia Friedman. Stafford-Clark left the company in 2017 and its current Artistic Director is Kate Wasserberg, who joined the company in April 2017. Graham Cowley succeeded Friedman as producer in 1998. Upon his retirement in 2012 he was succeeded as producer by Panda Cox, who originally joined the company as Stafford-Clark's assistant. The company's current Executive Producer is Martin Derbyshire. Bill Douglas
William Gerald Douglas (17 April 1934 – 18 June 1991) was a Scottish film director best known for the trilogy of films about his early life. Biography Born in Newcraighall on the outskirts of Edinburgh, he was brought up initially by his maternal grandmother, Jean Beveridge; following her death, he lived with his father and paternal grandmother. He undertook his National Service in Egypt, where he met his lifelong friend, Peter Jewell. On returning to Britain, Douglas moved to London and began a career of acting and writing. After spending some time with Joan Littlewood's 'Theatre Workshop' company at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, he was cast in the Granada television series, ''The Younger Generation'' in 1961 and had a musical, ''Solo'', produced in 1962 at Cheltenham. Bridgend
Bridgend (; cy, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr or just , meaning "the end of the bridge on the Ogmore") is a town in Bridgend County Borough in Wales, west of Cardiff and east of Swansea. The town is named after the Old Bridge, Bridgend, medieval bridge over the River Ogmore. The River Ewenny also flows through the town. The population was 49,597 in 2021. Gareth Thomas (born 25 July 1974), nicknamed "Alfie", is a Welsh former professional rugby union and rugby league player, who represented Wales in both sports. With 100 test match appearances he was the most capped Welsh rugby union player until he was overtaken by Stephen Jones in September 2011. He is currently ranked 14th among international try scorers, and is the third highest Wales try scorer behind Shane Williams & George North. He also won four rugby league caps for Wales, scoring three tries. He played rugby union as a fullback, wing or centre for Bridgend, Cardiff, the Celtic Warriors, Toulouse, Cardiff Blues, and Wales. The Tolpuddle Martyrs were six agricultural labourers from the village of Tolpuddle in Dorset, England, who, in 1834, were convicted of swearing a secret oath as members of the Friendly Society of Agricultural Labourers. They were arrested on charges under an obscure act during a labour dispute against cutting wages before being convicted in ''R v Lovelass, R v Loveless and Others'' and sentenced to penal transportation to Australia. They were pardoned in 1836 after mass protests by sympathisers and support from John Russell, 1st Earl Russell, Lord John Russell and returned to England between 1837 and 1839. The Tolpuddle Martyrs became a popular cause for the early Trade union, union and workers' rights movements.
