Robin Reed (meteorologist)
Robin Reed was a former lead news anchor and chief meteorologist at WDBJ-DT in Roanoke, Virginia for over 40 years until his retirement in December 2022. Career In 1979, Reed began his television career with WHSV in Harrisonburg, Virginia, working as sports director and weathercaster. He joined WDBJ in March 1982 and has been llChief llMeteorologist ever since. Reed presents the weather forecasts for NEWS7 on the 5, 6, and 11 o'clock newscasts. Reed has been awarded the "Seal of Approval" by the American Meteorological Society and is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), having been the sixth meteorologist in the country to earn this distinction. WDBJ (channel 7) is a television station licensed to Roanoke, Virginia, United States, serving as the CBS affiliate for the Roanoke– Lynchburg market. It is owned by Gray Television alongside Danville-licensed MyNetworkTV affiliate WZBJ, channel 24 (and its Lynchburg-licensed Class A translator WZBJ-CD, channel 19). Fincastle is a town in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States. The population was 755 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Botetourt County. Fincastle is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The town of Fincastle was originally settled by Scotch-Irish and German immigrants from Pennsylvania who arrived in the region in the mid-18th century. John Miller erected a sawmill which became the nucleus of the early village of Fincastle. In 1770, Botetourt County was separated from Augusta County, and Miller's home was selected as the meeting place for the court. Two years later, Israel Christian donated of land and laid out the streets and lots for the new town of Fincastle. Michael Feldman (born March 14, 1949) is an American radio personality. He is the host of ''Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know?'', formerly a radio show distributed by Public Radio International and now a podcast. His former announcer, Jim Packard, referred to him as "The Sage of Wisconsin." He has given himself the title of "Producer Internationale," and also refers to Public Radio International on-air as "The International House of Radio." ''Whad'Ya Know?'' is an American comedy, interview, and quiz radio show. Hosted by Michael Feldman, it was created in 1985. During its radio run, it was produced by Wisconsin Public Radio and distributed through Public Radio International. Feldman is accompanied on-stage by Lyle Anderson, phone-answerer; and the Whad'ya Know Trio with John Thulin on piano, Jeff Hamann on bass, and, on road shows, Clyde Stubblefield on drums. Jeffry Eckels was the original full-time bass player from 1987 to 2003. Feldman was also accompanied by Jim Packard as announcer from the show's beginning until his death following the June 9, 2012, show from New York City.
