Robin Lehman
Robin Lehman (born Robert Owen Lehman Jr.; December 3, 1936) is an American documentary filmmaker best known for his short films '' Don't'' (1974) and '' The End of the Game'' (1975), which received consecutive Academy Awards for Best Documentary (Short Subject). He is a member of the Lehman family. Biography Born Robert Owen Lehman Jr., he is the son of Robert Lehman (1891–1969) and Ruth "Kitty" (Leavitt) Meeker Lehman (1904–1984). His mother is the daughter of William Homer Leavitt and Ruth Bryan Owen and granddaughter of United States Secretary of State, William Jennings Bryan. His father is the son of Philip Lehman and the grandson of Emanuel Lehman. Her father is of Jewish background. Outside of his work directing short documentaries, Lehman contributed special material to ''Tommy'', the 1975 film version of The Who's rock opera. Robert Lehman
Robert Owen Lehman, Sr. (September 29, 1891 – August 9, 1969) was an American banker, longtime head of the Lehman Brothers investment bank, and a racehorse owner, art collector, and philanthropist. Life and career Lehman was born to a Jewish family in New York City. He was the son of Philip Lehman (1861–1947) and grandson of Emanuel Lehman, a cofounder of Lehman Brothers investment bank, and Carrie Lauer (1865–1937). He graduated from Hotchkiss School in 1908 and was a 1913 graduate of Yale University and member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity (Phi chapter). When his father retired in 1925, "Bobbie" Lehman assumed the leadership role of the family-owned business. He took over the bank during a time when Lehman Brothers, like its competitors Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, was essentially a one-office firm. Phillip Lehman
Phillip Lehman (born Philip, alternatively spelled Philippe) is a Franco-American artist, music producer, and cave diver best known as Bando, the graffiti pioneer of France who helped popularize the medium in Europe throughout the 1980s. Following this period, Lehman co-founded a string of funk labels in Paris and New York including Desco Records, the precursor to Daptone Records and his Truth & Soul Records. Since the 2000s, he has worked as a cave diver and speleologist in the Dominican Republic. The Eastman School of Music is the music school of the University of Rochester, a private research university in Rochester, New York. It was established in 1921 by industrialist and philanthropist George Eastman. The Black Pearl (1977 Film)
''The Black Pearl'' is a young adult novel by Scott O'Dell first published in 1967 about the coming of age of the son of a pearl dealer. Plot summary Ramon Salazar finds a black pearl so beautiful that his father is certain Ramon has found the fabled Pearl of Heaven. This find will bring renown to their town, and to the Salazar name. However, the pearl also has a curse that haunts the town and Salazar's family. Film adaptation Royal Productions and Universum Film produced a film adaptation of ''The Black Pearl''. Released in 1977, the film was directed by Saul Swimmer, written by Victor Miller, and featured performances by Gilbert Roland, Mario Custodio, and Carl Anderson. A rock opera is a collection of rock music songs with lyrics that relate to a common story. Rock operas are typically released as concept albums and are not scripted for acting, which distinguishes them from operas, although several have been adapted as rock musicals.
