Robin Gourley
Robin Edward Gourley (19 November 1935 – 19 July 2021) was a Northern Irish-Australian professional rugby league and rugby union footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. A New South Wales representative front row forward, he played in the NSWRFL Premiership for Sydney club St George with which he won the 1965 and 1966 grand finals. Early career Gourley was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, on 19 November 1935. After initially playing rugby union in his native country, he moved to Australia in 1958 when he was 23 years of age, taking up rugby league football. While living and playing in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Gourley was selected to play for the New South Wales rugby league team. This brought him to the attention of Frank Facer, administrator for Sydney club St George, who signed Gourley to the premiers for the following season. County Tyrone

Rugby League Positions
A rugby league team consists of thirteen players on the field, with 4 substitutes on the bench. Each of the thirteen players is assigned a position, normally with a standardised number, which reflects their role in attack and defence, although players can take up any position at any time. Players are divided into two general types, forwards and backs. Forwards are generally chosen for their size and strength. They are expected to run with the ball, to attack, and to make tackles. Forwards are required to improve the team's field position thus creating space and time for the backs. Backs are usually smaller and faster, though a big, fast player can be of advantage in the backs. Their roles require speed and ball-playing skills, rather than just strength, to take advantage of the field position gained by the forwards. Laura Gourley
Laura Gourley (born 28 May 2002) is an Australian representative rower. She is a three-time Australian underage champion, has represented at U23 World Championships and in 2023 made the Australian senior squad. Club and state rowing Gourley, who is from Narrabri in north-western NSW, attended school at Loreto Normanhurst where she took up rowing. Her senior club rowing has been from the UTS Haberfield Rowing Club in Sydney. Gourley first made NSW state selection in the 2020 women's youth eight, which didn't race at the Interstate Regatta due to the pandemic. In 2021, she was again selected in the NSW women's youth eight, placing 3rd in the race for the Bicentennial Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. She made senior state selection for New South Wales in 2022 when picked in the senior women's eight to contest the Queen's Cup at the Interstate Regatta (2nd place). Scott Gourley
Scott Robert Gourley (born 18 July 1968) is an Australian former rugby league and rugby union footballer who played from 1986-1998 and achieved the status of a dual-code international representing his country in both sports. He made five Test appearances for the Wallabies and switched to rugby league in 1990 playing for the St George Dragons, the Sydney Roosters and making one Test appearance for the Kangaroos. Narrabri, New South Wales
Narrabri ( ) is a locality and seat of Narrabri Shire Local government in Australia, local government area in the North West Slopes, New South Wales, Australia on the Namoi River, northwest of Sydney. Frank Facer
Francis Henry Facer (8 August 1919 – 16 January 1978) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s at North Sydney and St George. After he retired from playing, he became a noted sports administrator at St George from 1956 until 1978. There he was instrumental in finding and bringing to the club many future stars and played a pivotal role in building a club structure that supported a sustained record of success. Playing career North Sydney Born and bred in Naremburn, New South Wales to parents Albert and Violet Facer, Frank Facer became a first grade rugby league player in Sydney. Facer was graded at Norths in 1938, and went on to play over 130 games in all graded for Norths.
