Robin is a unisex given name and a surname. It was originally a diminutive masculine given name or nickname of Robert, derived from the prefix ''Ro''- (''hrod'', Old Germanic, meaning "fame" and ''berht'', meaning "bright"), and the suffix ''-in'' (Old French diminutive). Robin Hood
Robin Hood is a legendary heroic outlaw originally depicted in English folklore and subsequently featured in literature and film. According to legend, he was a highly skilled archer and swordsman. In some versions of the legend, he is depicted as being of noble birth, and in modern retellings he is sometimes depicted as having fought in the Crusades before returning to England to find his lands taken by the Sheriff. In the oldest known versions he is instead a member of the yeoman class. Traditionally depicted dressed in Lincoln green, he is said to have robbed from the rich and given to the poor. Robin Bush
Robin James Edwin Bush (12 March 1943 – 22 June 2010) was the resident historian for the first nine series of Channel 4's archaeology series ''Time Team'', appearing in 39 episodes between 1994 and 2003. He also presented eight episodes of '' Time Team Extra'' in 1998. Robin Boyd (theologian)
Robin H. S. Boyd (14 May 1924 – 14 June 2018) was an Irish theologian and missionary to India, ordained in the Irish Presbyterian Church. He also worked with the Student Christian Movement and was a presbyter in the Church of North India. Biography Boyd was born in Belfast in 1924, to Irish missionaries to India. He pursued undergraduate studies in classics at Trinity College Dublin, which was interrupted from 1943 to 1945 for war service, and went on for theological studies at New College, Edinburgh. Robin Elizabeth Bell is Palisades Geophysical Institute (PGI) Lamont Research Professor at Columbia University's Lamont–Doherty Earth Observatory and a past President of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), 2019–2021. Dr. Bell was influential in co-ordinating the 2007 International Polar Year and was the first woman to chair the National Academy of Sciences Polar Research Board.
