Roberts Limited is an agricultural services company with operations in Tasmania. Established in 1865, until 2006 it was Australia's oldest publicly listed company. The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ruralco in 2006, following a successful off-market takeover bid. It operates the only livestock sales yards in Tasmania, 14 feed stores. and insurance, irrigation, fertilizer, wool sales and real-estate services for rural customers. History Roberts Limited was established as Kemp, Roberts and Co, an auctioneer business founded by Henry Llewelyn Roberts (husband of Mary Roberts Grant, founder of Hobart Zoo), George Anthony Kemp and John William Abbott. Strebor Diecasting (the name comes from Roberts spelled backwards) was a die-casting company in Radcliffe, Lancashire Lancashire ( , ; abbreviated ''Lancs'') is a ceremonial county in North West England. It is bordered by Cumbria to the north, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire to the east, Greater Manchester and Merseyside to the south, and the Irish Sea to ... which was founded in 1926 as the Roberts Company. In 1933 the name was changed to the Strebor Diecasting company. During WW2 it made war material, after the war it made metal toys, and eventually achieved widespread notice as makers of cylinder locks and locking devices for the motor trade during the 1960s and 1970s under the STREBOR and STRONIS trade names. Their locks were to be found on British cars such as the Mini. The company was finally dissolved in 2003/2004 following a period of rundown and some industrial relations problems. Roberts Cycles is a custom bicycle frame building business that was originally located in Selhurst near Croydon, South London, and is now located in Poole, England. The business began soon after World War II when Charles (Charlie) Benjamin Roberts worked as a frame-builder for Holdsworth, Claud Butler, and Freddie Grubb. In the 1960s, Charlie founded Roberts Cycles at the family home in Sydenham. He was later joined in the workshop by his oldest son Chas, and then by his youngest son Geoff. In 1979, Charlie Roberts died unexpectedly, and Chas took over the management of the business. By then, the business had moved from Sydenham to Anerley, South London.
