Roberto Occhiuto
Roberto Occhiuto (born 13 May 1969), is an Italian politician, President of Calabria since 29 October 2021. Biography Comunal and regional councilor Brother of Mario Occhiuto, mayor of Cosenza from 2011 to 2021, Occhiuto was elected for the first time as communal councilor in his hometown Cosenza in 1993, holding his seat until 2000. Occhiuto was later elected as regional councilor of Calabria in the 2000 and the 2005 regional elections. Member of the Chamber of Deputies Occhiuto was elected to the Chamber of Deputies with the Union of the Centre at the 2008 Italian general election. Failing re-election in 2013, he took over Lorenzo Cesa's seat the following year, after the latter was elected to the European Parliament. Centre-right Coalition
The centre-right coalition ( it, coalizione di centro-destra) is an alliance of political parties in Italy, active—under several forms and names—since 1994, when Silvio Berlusconi entered politics and formed his Forza Italia party. Despite its name, the alliance mostly falls on the right-wing of the political spectrum. In the 1994 general election, under the leadership of Berlusconi, the centre-right ran with two coalitions, the Pole of Freedoms in northern Italy and Tuscany (mainly Forza Italia and the Northern League) and the Pole of Good Government (mainly Forza Italia and National Alliance) in central and southern Italy. 2021 Calabrian Regional Election
The 2021 Calabrian regional election took place in Calabria, Italy, on 3 and 4 October 2021, following the dissolution of the regional parliament after the death of regional president Jole Santelli. It was originally scheduled to take place on 14 February 2021, then on 11 April 2021, and was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. Electoral system Even if a district list is linked to a regional list that exceeds 8% of the vote, the district list must obtain at least 4% of the vote in the whole region in order to elect their own representatives. Jole Santelli
Jole Santelli (28 December 1968 – 15 October 2020) was an Italian politician. A member of Forza Italia (2013), Forza Italia, she was the President of Calabria from 15 February 2020 until her death eight months later. The Draghi government was the 67th government of the Italian Republic, led by former President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi. It was in office between 13 February 2021 and 22 October 2022. The Draghi government was formed following the resignation of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the midst of a political crisis which led to the Conte government losing its majority. After consultations with political parties, President Sergio Mattarella tasked Draghi with forming a "high-profile" government. 2018 Italian General Election
The 2018 Italian general election was held on 4 March 2018 after the Italian Parliament was dissolved by President Sergio Mattarella on 28 December 2017. Voters were electing the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 18th legislature of the Italian Republic since 1948.
