Roberto Chávez
Roberto Chávez is a Mexican former professional tennis player. Chávez reached a career high ranking of 172 in the world while competing on the professional tour in the 1970s. At the 1973 Wimbledon Championships, Chávez came from two sets down to win his first round match against Ionel Sânteiu. His best performance on tour came at Mexico City in 1978, where he beat John Alexander en route to the quarter-finals. Between 1975 and 1979, Chávez was a member of the Mexico Davis Cup team and appeared in a total of seven ties. He won a two singles rubbers, both against Canada's Réjean Genois. In 1975 he featured in a rare win for Mexico over the United States and in another meeting against the Americans, in the 1977 tournament, took a set off Roscoe Tanner. John Alexander (Australian Politician)
John Gilbert Alexander (born 4 July 1951) is a former Australian politician and former professional tennis player. As a tennis player, Alexander reached a career-high singles rank of No. 8 in the world in 1975. He reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open singles on three occasions, and won the doubles in 1975 and 1982. He also played in the Australian team that won the 1977 Davis Cup. After the end of his playing career, Alexander worked as a tennis commentator and managed various sports-related businesses. Alexander won the Division of Bennelong for the Liberal Party at the 2010 election, and retained the seat in 2013 and 2016. He resigned on 11 November 2017 due to constitutional ineligibility arising from his dual citizenship of the United Kingdom. He renounced his UK citizenship and stood as the Liberal Party candidate at the by-election, held on 16 December 2017, which he won. Réjean Genois (born December 30, 1952) is a former professional and Davis Cup tennis player from Quebec City. Genois was the top-ranked Canadian singles player during 1978 and 1979. His career high ranking of World No. 89 was the highest grand prix tour computer ranking for a Canadian until Glenn Michibata reached World No. 79 in 1984.
