Robert Vito
Robert Vito was an American television correspondent and bureau chief for CNN, his role as bureau chief covered Los Angeles, Miami, Rome and Detroit. Career In 1968, he became a general assignment reporter at WAEO-TV, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. On November 17, 1968, an airplane with three passengers crashed into the transmission tower, killing all three passengers. The station was knocked off the air for nearly a year. Vito was hired by Milwaukee-based WISN-TV in 1969, working as an investigative reporter under the name "Bob Viverito." He left WISN in 1973 to take a job with WWJ-TV to do "investigative reporting and some anchoring."The Milwaukee Journal, April 28, 1973. Rhinelander, Wisconsin
Rhinelander is a city in and the county seat of Oneida County, Wisconsin, Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 8,285 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. History The area that eventually became the city of Rhinelander was originally called Pelican Rapids by early settlers, named for the stretch of rapids just above the convergence of the Wisconsin and Pelican Rivers. Around 1870, Anderson W. Brown of Stevens Point and Anson P. Vaughn traveled up the Wisconsin River to cruise timber for Brown's father, E. D. Brown. WJFW-TV
WJFW-TV (channel 12) is an television station licensed to Rhinelander, Wisconsin, United States, serving the Wausau area as an affiliate of NBC. Owned by Rockfleet Broadcasting, the station maintains studios on County Road G (along WIS 17) in Rhinelander, and its transmitter is located in Starks, Wisconsin. Since WJFW's transmitter is located further north than the other north-central Wisconsin stations, it can only be seen in Wausau proper and not other areas in Marathon County to the south and west. Therefore, it operates a low-power digital fill-in translator in Wausau (W27AU-D). This broadcasts on channel 27 from a transmitter on Mosinee Hill southwest of the I-39/US 51/WIS 29 interchange. Jimmy Hoffa
James Riddle Hoffa (born February 14, 1913 – disappeared July 30, 1975; declared dead July 30, 1982) was an American labor union leader who served as the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) from 1957 until 1971. From an early age, Hoffa was a union activist, and he became an important regional figure with the IBT by his mid-twenties. By 1952, he was the national vice-president of the IBT and between 1957 and 1971 he was its general president. He secured the first national agreement for teamsters' rates in 1964 with the National Master Freight Agreement. He played a major role in the growth and the development of the union, which eventually became the largest by membership in the United States, with over 2.3 million members at its peak, during his terms as its leader.
