In 1863, he emigrated to Queensland, spending around a year and a half in central Queensland. He had a fall from a horse and injured his chest, the effects of which were long-lasting. Daphne Mayo
Daphne Mayo (1 October 1895 – 31 July 1982) was a significant 20th-century Australian artist, most prominently known for her work in sculpture, particularly the tympanum of Brisbane City Hall, and the Women's War Memorial in ANZAC Square. Personal life Born in Balmain, Sydney in 1895, she was educated in Brisbane at St. Margaret's Anglican Girls School, and received a Diploma in Art Craftsmanship from the Brisbane Central Technical College in 1913. At the college she was strongly influenced by L.J Harvey who initiated her interest in modelling. She further developed her skills in this medium when she was presented with an opportunity to go to London in 1919 through an art scholarship provided by Queensland Wattle League. Goodna is a suburb on the eastern edge of the City of Ipswich in Queensland, Australia. In the , Goodna had a population of 10,461 people. Geography Goodna is from the Brisbane central business district, being just outside the Brisbane City Council area. Joshua Jeays (1812–1881) was a Leicester-born carpenter who became a successful developer, an alderman and mayor of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.Brisbane City Council Archives Personal life Joshua Jeays was born in 1812 in Leicestershire, England.,Queensland Registrar-General of Births, Deaths & Marriages and died in Brisbane in 1881, at the age of 69. He married Sarah Edwyn in 1838 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England with whom he had a number of children including: * Sarah Jane * Joseph Joshua (died 1909) * Charles Edwyn (died 1883) There may have been other children who died in infancy. Moreton Bay
Moreton Bay is a bay located on the eastern coast of Australia from central Brisbane, Queensland. It is one of Queensland's most important coastal resources. The waters of Moreton Bay are a popular destination for recreational anglers and are used by commercial operators who provide seafood to market. The Port of Brisbane coordinates large traffic along the shipping channel which crosses the northern section of the bay. The bay serves as a safe approach to the airport and reduces noise pollution over the city to the west of the runway. A number of barge, ferry and water-taxi services also travel over the bay. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by ''Mycobacterium tuberculosis'' (MTB) bacteria. Tuberculosis generally affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body. Most infections show no symptoms, in which case it is known as latent tuberculosis. Around 10% of latent infections progress to active disease which, if left untreated, kill about half of those affected. Robert Cribb
Robert Cribb (7 January 1805 – 16 April 1893) was an Australian parliamentarian who represented the district of East Moreton in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, and the districts of Town of Brisbane and East Moreton in the Queensland Legislative Assembly after the separation of Queensland from New South Wales. Cribb's brother Benjamin Cribb also served as a member of the colonial parliaments of both New South Wales and Queensland. Early life Cribb was born in 1805 in the town of Poole, Dorset, England into a rigidly Nonconformist family.
