Robert Sigl
Robert Sigl (born 11 July 1962) is a German film director and writer. He attended the University of Television and Film Munich from 1981-1986. His short film "''The Christmas Tree"'' was shown at international festivals in Madrid and Berlin. In 1987 he started preparations for his first full-length motion picture ''Laurin'' in Hungary which he also scripted. ''Laurin'' was awarded the Bavarian Film Awards for best direction of a newcomer. At the age of 25, Sigl was the youngest director ever to receive this distinction. ''Laurin'' was shown at numerous international festivals, including Moscow and Málaga, and was released in Great Britain by the U.K. video label “Eureka Entertainment” and in Spain by Filmax. It is currently airing on Canada's Scream TV and is available in the U.S. on an import DVD from Luminous Film and Video.
