Robert Schumann Conservatory
The Robert Schumann Hochschule (Robert Schumann University of Music and Media) is a school for music studies at the university level located in Düsseldorf. The University has a student body of some 850 coming from over 40 countries. Forty-seven full-time and part-time faculty and 200 associate professors (People) provide individualized instruction. History In 1935 three private music schools were merged into the Robert Schumann Conservatorium, named after the composer Robert Schumann, who lived in Düsseldorf for some years. In 1972 the state of North Rhine-Westphalia became the body responsible for the music college. It became part of the public college for music in the Rhineland. Klaus Doldinger
Klaus Doldinger (born 12 May 1936) is a German saxophonist known for his work in jazz and as a film music composer. He was the recipient of 1997's Bavarian Film Awards. Life and work Doldinger was born in Berlin, Germany, and entered a Düsseldorf conservatory in 1947, originally studying piano and then clarinet, graduating in 1957. In his student years, Doldinger gained professional performing experience, starting in 1953 in the German Dixieland band ''The Feetwarmers'', and recording with them in 1955. Later that year he founded Oscar's Trio' modeled on Oscar Peterson's work. During the 1960s, he worked as a tenor saxophonist, working with visiting American jazz musicians, Beat groups like Ian and the Zodiacs and recording in his own right. Doldinger's recurring jazz project Passport, started in 1971 (then called "Klaus Doldinger's Passport"), still enjoys success in Germany. Fazıl Say
Fazıl Say (; born 14 January 1970 in Ankara) is a Turkish pianist and composer. Life and career Fazıl Say was born in 1970. His father, Ahmet Say was an author and musicologist. His mother, Gürgün Say was a pharmacist. His grandfather Fazıl Say with whom he shares the same name with was a member of the Spartakusbund. Say was a child prodigy, who was able to do basic arithmetic with 4-digit numbers at the age of two. His father, having found out that he was playing the melody of "Daha Dün Annemizin" (Turkish version of Ah! vous dirai-je, maman) on a makeshift flute with no prior training, enlisted the help of Ali Kemal Kaya, an oboist and family friend. Maria Radner
Maria Friderike Radner (; 7 May 1981 – 24 March 2015) was a German contralto who performed internationally in opera and in concerts. She studied at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany. Both ''Stern'' magazine and Munich's ''Abendzeitung'' described her as an "extremely talented interpreter of Wagner's music". Possessing the "rare pitch of a true alto", she frequently appeared as Erda in Wagner's ''Der Ring des Nibelungen'' at the Leipzig Opera, Schwertleite in ''Die Walküre'' at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze with Zubin Mehta, and in Mahler's Symphony No. 2 (''Resurrection'') conducted by Antonio Pappano in Rome and Milan. Johannes Quack (born 1959) is a German ethnologist at the Goethe University Frankfurt whose primary field of study is religion. Reinhard Theodor Kluth (31 July 1950 – 12 July 2020) was a German church musician and composer. Life Born in Dülken, Kluth studied church music at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. In 1976, he passed his exams, and in 1978 his artistic maturity examination. His teachers were Jürg Baur, Hans-Dieter Möller, Heinz Bernhard Orlinski, Friedemann Gottschick and Alberte Brun. Helmut Kickton
Helmut Kickton (born 28 June 1956 in Cologne, West Germany) is a German church musician, publisher and multi-instrumentalist. Kickton studied church music at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Hans-Dieter Möller and Hartmut Schmidt. In 1986 he passed his examination ( A) with distinction for improvisation and music history. The following years he learned to play most common instruments. He regularly performs on the organ, recorder, violin, viola, cello, double bass, euphonium, guitar and kettledrums. Since 1987 he has been cantor of the ''diakonie church'' in Bad Kreuznach. Together with the ''kreuznacher-diakonie-kantorei'' he developed the model of the ''Integrative Kantorei'', which unites voices and instruments. Ralf Hütter (born 20 August 1946) is a German musician and composer best known as the lead singer and keyboardist of Kraftwerk, which he founded with Florian Schneider in 1969. Roland Haerdtner, orig. ''Härdtner'' (born 27 March 1964) is a German marimba player, a soloist for mallet instruments, percussion and timpani. Since 1993 he is principal timpanist and percussionist of the Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim. Manuel Gera (born 1963) is a German church musician and organist. Gera studied Protestant church music at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. There, he passed the in 1991. His teachers included Hartmut Schmidt (choir conducting), Hans-Dieter Möller (organ) and Gustav Adolf Krieg (organ improvisation).
