Robert Ramspeck
Robert C. Word Ramspeck (September 5, 1890 – September 10, 1972) was an American politician and businessman. Ramspeck was born in Decatur, Georgia. As a young man he was a federal police officer. He was admitted to the bar in 1920. He would go on to be a Democratic congressman from Georgia from 1929 to 1945. In the period of 1941 to 1945 he was House Majority Whip. Eastern Air Lines
Eastern Air Lines, also colloquially known as Eastern, was a major United States airline from 1926 to 1991. Before its dissolution, it was headquartered at Miami International Airport in an unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Florida. Eastern was one of the " Big Four" domestic airlines created by the Spoils Conferences of 1930, and was headed by World War I flying ace Eddie Rickenbacker in its early years. Helen Douglas Mankin
Helen Douglas Mankin (September 11, 1896 – July 25, 1956) was an American politician. She was the second woman to represent Georgia in the United States House of Representatives. Life Mankin was born September 11, 1896, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. She grew up there, attending public and private schools. She graduated with an A.B. from Rockford College, Rockford, Illinois, in 1917. She graduated with an LL.B. from Atlanta Law School, Atlanta, Georgia, in 1920. During and after the First World War, Mankin served as an ambulance driver in the American Women's Hospital Unit No. 1, a Red Cross unit attached to the French army in 1918 and 1919. She was there as a civilian and was not officially a military veteran. After the war and earning her law degree, Mankin entered private practice as an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. Leslie Jasper Steele (November 21, 1868 – July 24, 1929) was an American politician and lawyer. Steele was born in Decatur, DeKalb County, Georgia to Michael A. and Martha Lucinda Smith Steele, Georgia, and graduated from Oxford College of Emory University in 1893. He taught school from 1893 to 1898, then attended and graduated from the University of Georgia (UGA) School of Law in Athens in 1899 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and was admitted to the state bar that same year. On November 6, 1904, he married Rubie Mae Sprayberry, the daughter of John G. and Lula V.
