Robert Quincy Lee
Robert Quincy Lee (January 12, 1869 – April 18, 1930) was a businessman and politician from Texas. He is most notable for serving as a U.S. representative from Texas's 17th congressional district, an office he held from March 1929 until his death 13 months later. Biography Lee was born near Coldwater, Mississippi, and raised in Mississippi and Texas. He attended the public schools of Mississippi and Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated from Fort Worth High School. In 1891, Lee moved to Caddo, Texas, where he owned a general store and raised cattle. While living in Caddo, Lee also served as the town's postmaster. In 1913, he moved to Cisco, Texas, where he operated ranches and farms and was president of the Cisco Banking Company. In 1919, he was the founder and builder in 1919 of the Cisco & Northeastern Railroad, and he served as its president from 1919 to 1927. Texas's 17th Congressional District
Texas's 17th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives includes a strip of Central Texas and Deep East Texas stretching from Nacogdoches to Waco and Round Rock, including former President George W. Bush's McLennan County ranch. The district is currently represented by Republican Pete Sessions. From 2005 to 2013, it was an oblong district stretching from south of Tarrant County to Grimes County in the southeast. The 2012 redistricting made its area more square, removing the northern and southeastern portions, adding areas southwest into the northern Austin suburbs and east into Freestone and Leon counties. Coldwater, Mississippi
Coldwater is a town in Tate County, Mississippi, United States, and is part of the Memphis Metropolitan Area. The population was 1,677 at the 2010 census. History The current town square of Coldwater is approximately two miles south of the Coldwater River, hence the name. The original town began in 1856, called the village of Elm Grove. Construction of the Mississippi and Tennessee Railroad through here in 1858 stimulated development. Rows of stores and other businesses developed on both sides of the tracks, along with houses of worship. Coldwater was officially incorporated in 1872. At that time, the Town was located in DeSoto County and was a mile square, with the railroad depot at the center. The area was developed for cotton plantations and Coldwater became a trading center. Cisco, Texas
Cisco is a city in Eastland County, Texas. The population was 3,899 at the time of the 2010 census. History Cisco, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Interstate 20 in northwestern Eastland County, traces its history back to 1878 or 1879, when Rev. C. G. Stevens arrived in the area, established a post office and a church, and called the frontier settlement "Red Gap". About six families were already living nearby, and W. T. Caldwell was running a store a half mile to the west. In 1881, the Houston and Texas Central Railway crossed the Texas and Pacific, which had come through the year before, at a point near Red Gap, and the settlement's inhabitants moved their town to the crossing. The date the rails crossed, May 17, 1881, is considered by some to be Cisco's "birthday."
