Robert Piotrowicz
Robert Piotrowicz (born 1973) is a Polish sound artist, composer, and improviser. He works within contemporary electroacoustic music field. Piotrowicz is an instrumentalist whose main tools are modular synthesizer and guitar. He's an experienced improviser, working with world's known artists. Composer, author of many solo projects (recordings, performances), interdisciplinary projects (scores for theatre plays, literary and radio projects) and abstract sound installations. He participated in many art events around the world. Together with Anna Zaradny he runs Musica Genera label and annual festival of the same name. Piotrowicz has developed his trademark sound of intense dynamics seized in dramatic and balanced form. Several albums with his solo music had been released, the last one so far, "Lasting Clinamen" in 2008, highly acclaimed by the critics around the globe. The Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival (LUFF) is a film festival and music festival devoted to underground film and music. It is held each year in Lausanne, Switzerland. The festival is organized by a non-profit organization (APCI – Association pour la Promotion de la Culture Indépendante). The organization's goals are to promote independent artistic projects and creations and to make those projects accessible to a large public. Free improvisation or free music is improvised music without any rules beyond the logic or inclination of the musician(s) involved. Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions. Emil Mihai Cioran (, ; 8 April 1911 – 20 June 1995) was a Romanian philosopher, aphorist and essayist, who published works in both Romanian and French. Sound art is an artistic activity in which sound is utilized as a primary medium or material. Like many genres of contemporary art, sound art may be interdisciplinary in nature, or be used in hybrid forms. According to Brandon LaBelle, sound art as a practice "harnesses, describes, analyzes, performs, and interrogates the condition of sound and the process by which it operates." Kevin Drumm
Kevin Drumm (born 1970) is an experimental musician based in Chicago, United States. Biography Emerging from the city's improvised music scene, in the 1990s he became one of the world's pre-eminent prepared guitar players. Since then his work has expanded to include electroacoustic compositions and live electronic music made with laptop computers and analog modular synthesizers. His early recordings contain mostly sparse, quiet sounds; recent works have been more loud and dense.
