Robert Nash (Australian Rules Footballer)
Robert Henry Nash (22 April 1884 – 16 June 1958) was a leading Australian rules footballer who was captain of the Collingwood Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and captain-coach of the Footscray Football Club in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). Family The son of Michael Joseph "Mick" Nash (1862–1939), who played for Carlton when it was part of the VFA, and Mary Ann (a.k.a. "Marianne") Nash (1861–1940), née Tobin, Robert Henry Nash was born on 22 April 1884. He married Mary Anne Ryan in 1906. His uncle, Thomas M. Nash (1859–?), also played for Carlton when it was part of the VFA. Bob Nash is best known as the father of Test cricketer and leading footballer Laurie Nash.Wallish (1998). 1907 VFL Season
The 1907 VFL season was the eleventh season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured eight clubs, ran from 27 April until 21 September, and comprised a 17-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Carlton Football Club for the second time and second time consecutively, after it defeated by five points in the 1907 VFL Grand Final. Premiership season In 1907, the VFL competition consisted of eight teams of 18 on-the-field players each, with no "reserves", although any of the 18 players who had left the playing field for any reason could later resume their place on the field at any time during the match. Footscray Football Club (VFA) Players
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Parattah
Parattah is a small township in Tasmania, located approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) southeast of the town of Oatlands. At the 2011 census, Parattah had a population of 360. The area is home to about 100 families, and contains many historic buildings, such as a farmhouse which was once home to Hudson Fysh, one of the founders of Qantas, and a historic railway station. The main street contains a number of attractive dwellings dating from the town's heyday, some of which are currently undergoing restoration.
