Robert Muller (11 March 1923 – 20 September 2010) was an international civil servant with the United Nations. Serving with the UN for 40 years and rising to the rank of assistant secretary-general, his ideas about world government, world peace and spirituality led to the increased representation of religions in the UN, especially of the New Age movement. He was known by some as "the philosopher of the United Nations". Early life and education Born in Belgium, Muller grew up in the Alsace–Lorraine region in France on the border of Germany as a French citizen. The border issues he saw as a child had a significant impact on his life and his decision to work at the United Nations. During his youth, Muller experienced constant political and cultural turmoil. Robert Swan Mueller III (; born August 7, 1944) is an American lawyer and government official who served as the sixth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2001 to 2013. A graduate of Princeton University and New York University, Mueller served as a Marine Corps officer during the Vietnam War, receiving a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart. He subsequently attended the University of Virginia School of Law. Bobby Muller
Robert O. Muller (born 1946) is an American peace advocate. He was born on Long Island, and grew up in Great Neck, New York. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967, during the Vietnam War. His commission with the Marines began the same day he received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Hofstra University in 1968, and by September of that year he was a combat lieutenant leading a marine infantry platoon. In April 1969, while leading an assault in Vietnam, a bullet entered his chest and severed his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. After returning from Vietnam, Muller became a staunch advocate for veterans' rights and a peace activist. In 1974, he earned his J.D. degree from the Hofstra University School of Law. In the same year, he appeared in the anti-war documentary film '' Hearts and Minds'', speaking about his life before, during, and after the Vietnam War. Robert Müller (25 June 1980 – 21 May 2009) was a German professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga from 1998 to 2009. Career Müller made his professional debut with EHC Klostersee of the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1997-98 season, before playing in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) from 1998 to 2009. He won the league championship with the Krefeld Pinguine in 2002–03, repeating the feat with the Adler Mannheim in 2006–07. The Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) selected Müller as their ninth-round pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, 275th overall, but he never played for the team. Illness and death In November 2006, Müller was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, known as glioblastoma. Part of the tumor was surgically removed, followed by chemotherapy and radiation treatment later in the year. Robert Enrique Muller (September 1881 – 1921) sometimes credited as Enrique Muller, Jr. and as E. Muller, was an official photographer for the United States Navy, and an author. He took photos of military ships in action. Biography He was born in New York City in September 1881 or 1882 to photographer Enrique Muller and his wife, Mary. His father had worked in the post office in Kiel in Germany, and migrated to the United States and lived New York City. Father, Enrique Muller and his two children, Robert and Theodore operated a photographic studio in New York City. The family lived in Brooklyn, New York City in 1900. He photographed the 1901 America's Cup and sent copies of his photographs to Wilhelm II, German Emperor. The Kaiser thanked the photographer, by sending him a pair of gold cufflinks. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport (1930–1999, "Miller") was the first civilian airport built in Austin, Texas, United States. It was replaced as Greater Austin's main airport by the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, which is located on the site of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base. A few miles northeast of downtown Austin, the airport was named after Robert Mueller, a city commissioner who died in office in January 1927. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport was identified with the airport code AUS, which was reassigned to Austin–Bergstrom International Airport in 1999.
