Bob McLeod (cricketer)
Robert William McLeod (19 January 1868 – 15 June 1907) was an Australian cricketer who played in six Test matches in 1892 and 1893. On his debut, he took five wickets in the first innings against England in Melbourne in 1892. Biography McLeod was born in Port Melbourne, Victoria. After retiring as a player he continued to be involved as a selector, team manager, committeeman and delegate to the Victorian Cricket Association. In 1907 he replaced H. C. A. Harrison as the Melbourne Cricket Club representative on the Victorian Football League. He died on 15 June 1907 in Middle Park, Victoria. Bob McLeod (cyclist)
Bob McLeod (5 May 1913 – 3 July 1958) was a Canadian cyclist. He competed in the 1000m time trial and the team pursuit events at the 1936 Summer Olympics. In 1934, McLeod won a gold medal in the 10 mile cycling event at the 1934 British Empire Games with a silver medal in the time trial event. He was married to Mary, with whom he had 3 children. Robert R. McLeod (born 1952) is a former Canadian politician. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories from 2007 to 2019, and served as the 12th premier of the Northwest Territories, from October 26, 2011 to October 24, 2019. Early life Born in 1952 and raised in Fort Providence, Northwest Territories, McLeod holds a BComm from the University of Alberta and an honours diploma in administrative management from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He also completed a program of national and international studies at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. He has been a federal civil servant and served in the Northwest Territories public service. Robert Bruce Aeneas Macleod (23 January 1764 – 6 December 1844), 3rd Macleod of Cadboll, was Lord Lieutenant of Cromarty from 1794 until 1833, and, a staunch Tory, he sat as the Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cromartyshire from 1807 to 1812. Biography Robert was born on 23 January 1764, the only son of Roderick Macleod, 2nd of Cadboll (d 1770) and Lilias, daughter of William Mackenzie of Belmaduthy. He may have been educated at Eaton School from 1777 until 1779, He may have been at Glasgow University in 1780 and may have been an advocate by 1789. He succeed to his father's estate of Cadboll in Ross-shire, north west of Tain, when he six, and his trustees purchased Invergordon Castle for him around 1780. Macleod was a Captain in the Sutherland Fencibles (1793) and a Major in the Ross Militia of 1803. William Knox (1928 – March 1999) was a Scottish author, journalist and broadcaster, best known for his crime novels and for presenting the long-running STV series ''Crimedesk''. Born in Glasgow, Knox became the youngest journalist for a Glasgow newspaper at age 16. He went on to report on crime, on motoring, and to become a news editor. He began writing crime novels in the 1950s. Knox often wrote under pseudonyms, frequently for the American market. These included Michael Kirk, Robert MacLeod and Noah Webster. He published over 50 crime novels, including several series, notably the "Thane and Moss" books. In the 1970s, he was approached by Scottish Television to present a series asking for public assistance in solving crimes in the central Scotland area.
