Robert L. Zambito
Robert Liborio Zambito is a politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was a municipal councilor, most recently serving on Montreal city council representing Saint-Léonard-Est as a member of the Union Montreal party between 2009 and 2013. Early life and private career Zambito was born in Italy. He was a land surveyor in the 1980s and was described as president of Ciment National Inc. and Entreprises de construction Stertalco Inc. in 1986. He later worked as a travel-agency operator and real-estate broker. Early political career Zambito was a Progressive Conservative Party of Quebec candidate in the 1985 provincial election, running in the Montreal division of Dorion. He focused his campaign on subsidized housing, community services for the elderly, and improved services at the city's Jean Talon Hospital. Montreal City Council
The Montreal City Council (french: Conseil municipal de Montréal) is the governing body in the mayor–council government in the city of Montreal, Quebec. The head of the city government in Montreal is the mayor, who is first among equals in the city council. The council is a democratically elected institution and is the final decision-making authority in the city, although much power is centralized in the executive committee. The council consists of 65 members from all boroughs of the city. 2001 Montreal Municipal Election
The 2001 Montreal municipal election took place on November 4, 2001, to elect a mayor and city councillors in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Gérald Tremblay defeated incumbent Pierre Bourque to become mayor of the newly amalgamated city. This was the only municipal election that was held for the amalgamated city (the amalgamation took effect on January 1, 2002), as the next municipal election was for the defused city. Saint-Leonard Borough Council
The Saint-Leonard borough council is the local governing body of Saint-Leonard, a borough in the City of Montreal. The council consists of five members: the borough mayor (who also serves as a Montreal city councillor), two Montreal councillors elected for Saint-Leonard's electoral districts, and two borough councillors. The borough council, like others in Montreal, is able to approve some contracts without seeking the approval of the Montreal executive committee or the Montreal city council. A ''Montreal Gazette'' article from May 2009 indicated that Saint-Leonard was paying more expenditures since dividing its management of parks and sports facilities into two twenty-year contracts. The Island of Montreal (french: Île de Montréal) is a large island in southwestern Quebec, Canada, that is the site of a number of municipalities including most of the city of Montreal and is the most populous island in Canada. The 1990 Montreal municipal election took place on November 4, 1990, to elect a mayor and city councillors in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Jean Doré was elected to a second term as mayor by a significant margin. All mayoral candidates were also permitted to run for seats on council in tandem with "co-listed candidates." Frank Zampino
Frank Zampino is a former Montreal politician and is a chartered accountant. He served as the Chairman of the executive committee of the Ville de Montréal and was the city's second-ranking official. Early life In 1976, Zampino graduated from Laurier Macdonald High School, an English-language public school in the east end of Montreal. Raymond Renaud
Raymond Renaud was a politician in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was mayor of the suburban community of Saint-Leonard from 1984 to 1990, leading the municipal Ralliement de Saint-Léonard party. Councillor Renaud was first elected as a Saint-Leonard councillor in 1978. He was re-elected in 1982 as a member of mayor Antonio di Ciocco's Équipe du renouveau de la cité de Saint-Léonard. This group dissolved after Di Ciocco's death, and Renaud formed the Ralliement de Saint-Léonard as a successor party.
