Robert Pryor Henry
Robert Pryor Henry (November 24, 1788 – August 25, 1826) was a U.S. Representative from Kentucky. Born in Henrys Mills, Kentucky (then a part of Virginia), Henry pursued classical studies and was graduated from Transylvania College, Lexington, Kentucky. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1809 and commenced practice in Georgetown, Kentucky. He owned slaves. He served as prosecuting attorney in 1819. Robert Henry FRSE FSA(Scot) (18 February 1718 – 24 November 1790) was a Scottish minister and historian. Life He was born on 18 February 1718, the son of Jean Galloway and James Henry, a farmer at Muirton Farm near St. Ninians, Stirlingshire. Henry was educated at St Ninian's Parish School then Stirling Grammar School. He then studied at the University of Edinburgh. After teaching at Annan Grammar School, he entered the Church of Scotland, being licensed by the Presbytery of Annan in 1746, but not finding a patron. He was finally ordained in 1748, just over the Scottish border in Carlisle, and translated in 1760 to Berwick-upon-Tweed, still just over the Scottish border (the rules on patronage were different in England). In May 1768 he finally got a position in Scotland: as minister at New Greyfriars in Edinburgh. The University of Edinburgh granted him an honorary doctorate (DD) in July 1770. Gas House Gang was a barbershop quartet that won the 1993 SPEBSQSA International Quartet Competition. They started singing as a group in 1987 in St. Louis Missouri. After winning the 1988 Central States District Competition in their first attempt, they began a steady climb up the International Competition ladder which culminated in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they were awarded the 1993 International Quartet Championship. Colonel Robert Selph Henry (October 20, 1889 – August 19, 1970) was an American lawyer, railroad executive and historian. He was an executive of the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway from 1921 to 1934, and the vice president of the Association of American Railroads from 1934 to 1958. He was the author of several books about the history of the Southern United States, including the American Civil War and the Mexican–American War, as well as railroads. He was the 1957 president of the Southern Historical Association. A veteran of World War I, he was a reservist until his 1952 retirement as a colonel. He previously played Safety (American and Canadian football position), safety and quarterback for the Purdue Boilermakers football, Purdue Boilermakers. Robert Henry (Canadian Politician)
Robert Henry (November 30, 1845 – January 30, 1918) was a Scottish-born grocer and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Brant South in the House of Commons of Canada in 1896 as a Conservative. Henry was also mayor of Brantford in 1878, 1879 and 1887. He was born in Perthshire and came to Brantford with his family in 1853. He first worked in a stationary and news store before being employed in the grocery trade. He became manager and then partner in the grocery firm of Alfred Watts. The company also operated the Brantford Soap Works. Henry was first elected to Brantford city council in 1876. He married Caroline Philip in 1879. His election to the House of Commons in 1896 was overturned and he was defeated by Charles Bernhard Heyd in the 1897 by-election which followed and in the 1900 general election. Robert Henry ( – 21 September 1954) was a New Zealand lawn bowls player. At the 1950 British Empire Games in Auckland he won the gold medal in the men's pair alongside Phil Exelby. The pair, with Henry playing lead, won all three of their round-robin matches to take the title. Henry arrived in New Zealand in about 1910. He was a police sergeant in Christchurch Christchurch ( ; mi, Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. Christchurch lies on the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula on Pegasus Bay. The Avon River / ..., and a member of the Sydenham Bowling Club in that city.
