Robert Henderson (American Politician)
Robert Henderson is an American politician. Early career Henderson moved to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1989, to accept an assistant coaching position for the Morningside Mustangs football team. He subsequently worked for Penn Corp Financial, before teaching within the Sioux City Community School District. Political career Henderson worked for Chuck Grassley as a regional director. He contested a Sioux City School Board election in 2015. This was Henderson's first candidacy for public office. He finished seventh of seven candidates. Shortly after the election, board member Paul Speidel resigned his seat, and Henderson was one of five candidates considered for appointment to the board. Former board member John Meyers was eventually selected. Henderson campaigned for the District 14 seat in the Iowa House of Representatives in 2016 and 2018, losing both times to Tim Kacena. Woodbury County, Iowa
Woodbury County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 105,941, making it the sixth-most populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Sioux City. Woodbury County is included in the Sioux City metropolitan area. History Originally established in 1851 as Wahkaw County, the Iowa Legislature in 1853 changed the name to Woodbury County in honor of Levi Woodbury (1789–1851), a senator and governor of New Hampshire who served as a Supreme Court justice from 1844 until his death. The first county seat of Wahkaw County was the now-extinct village of Thompsonville; when the Legislature changed the county name to Woodbury, the new county seat became Sergeant's Bluff (now Sergeant Bluff). Steve Hansen (politician)
Steven D. Hansen (born February 5, 1955) is an American politician. He was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives for District 1 from 1987 to 1995. He was then elected to the Iowa Senate from District 1 between 1995 and 2003. Hansen returned to the state house in 2021, representing District 14. Early life and education Hansen was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 5, 1955. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, political science, and criminal justice from Morningside College and a Master of Arts political science from the University of South Dakota. Timothy T. Kacena (born 1958) is an American politician. Kacena is a Sioux City native, born in 1958. He graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School. He was a firefighter for Sioux City Fire Rescue for three decades. In the 2016 and 2018 election cycles, Kacena defeated Republican candidate Robert Henderson, and served as a Democratic legislator representing District 14 of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021.
