Robert Harte (New Zealand Actor)
Robert Harte is a New Zealand actor who played Ryan Birch (Shortland Street character), Ryan Birch in ''Shortland Street'', father of Minnie Crozier but is more recently known for hosting the New Zealand television show ''My House, My Castle''. He currently resides in Whangarei, Northland, where he works as a lawyer in his own law firm (Rob Harte, Lawyer) and is opening a Mediation Centre. He also referees rugby and supports a lot of community organisations. Ryan Birch (Shortland Street Character)
Ryan Birch (5 April 1969 – 19 March 2013) was a British judoka, representing Great Britain in two Olympic Games. Biography Birch was born in Kingston upon Hull. In 1991, he won the first of his two championships of Great Britain, winning the half-middleweight division at the British Judo Championships. The following year he was slected by Great Britain for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he competed in the men's 78 kg event. In 1994, he won the gold medal at the 1994 European Judo Championships in Gdańsk, Poland. ''Shortland Street'' is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992. It is New Zealand's longest-running drama and soap opera, being broadcast continuously for over 7,500 episodes and 30 years, and is one of the most watched television programmes in New Zealand. Minnie Crozier
Minnie Crozier is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'', who was portrayed by Katrina Devine from her first appearance in 1994 as part of the Crozier family unit until 2001 when the character was axed as part of a large cast overhaul. Creation and casting Katrina Devine was cast in the role at the age of 14 and never imagined just how central Minnie would become in following years. After appearing on the show for 6 years, it was announced in 2000 the character was axed and would be making her last appearance in early 2001. The cause was later revealed as a show revamp which would see the tone more suited towards working class characters. ''City Life'' was a New Zealand soap opera that screened on TV 2 from 1996-–98. It was portrayed the lives and loves of ten singles who lived in an upmarket apartment building in Auckland, New Zealand. The show was touted as New Zealand's answer to ''Melrose Place''. The show starred Claudia Black, Lisa Chappell, Laurie Foell and Oliver Driver and featured a guest appearance by well known New Zealand actor, Kevin Smith. The show had a long development period, and the original treatment for the show had it set in Wellington with the working title ''96 Oriental Parade''. However, it was decided to produce the show in Auckland instead, and as such, the shows setting was changed along with the name to ''City Life''.
