Robert Halliday (footballer)
Robert Lynch Halliday (born 14 January 1986), is a Scottish football defender currently playing for Neilston in the Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region. Career Halliday started his career with Clyde. He never made a senior appearance for the club, though he did appear as an unused substitute. He was released by Clyde in January 2004. He went on to join Hamilton Academical for a season, where he made one appearance, before leaving them in 2005. In July 2009, he re-signed for Clyde, after being successful in the club's open trials. He was released from his contract in December 2009, after making 13 appearances. After a spell in amateur football, Halliday signed for Junior side Ashfield in 2011 and joined Irvine Meadow Irvine Meadow XI Football Club is a Scottish football club, based in Irvine, North Ayrshire. The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. The Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region was one of three regions of the SJFA which organised its own distinct league and cup competitions.
