Robert Grant (cricketer)
Robert John Grant (born 28 July 1965) is a former English cricketer. Grant was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Grant made his debut for Staffordshire in the 1989 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Cheshire. Grant played Minor counties cricket for Staffordshire from 1989 to 1990, playing a further MCCA Knockout Trophy match against Shropshire in 1990, while having made a single Minor Counties Championship appearance in 1989 against Bedfordshire. In 1989, he made his List A debut against Glamorgan in the NatWest Trophy. Leamington Spa
Royal Leamington Spa, commonly known as Leamington Spa or simply Leamington (), is a spa town and civil parish in Warwickshire, England. Originally a small village called Leamington Priors, it grew into a spa town in the 18th century following the popularisation of its water which was reputed to have medicinal qualities. In the 19th century, the town experienced one of the most rapid expansions in England. It is named after the River Leam, which flows through the town. Bedfordshire County Cricket Club is one of 20 Minor County clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Bedfordshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Eastern Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Northamptonshire. Its limited overs team is called the Northants Steelbacks – a reference to the Northamptonshire Regiment which was formed in 1881. The name was supposedly a tribute to the soldiers' apparent indifference to the harsh discipline imposed by their officers. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. Minor Counties Cricket Championship
The NCCA 3 Day Championship (previously the Minor Counties Cricket Championship) is a season-long competition in England and Wales that is contested by the members of the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), the so-called national counties that do not have first-class status. History The competition began in 1895, with the Worcestershire honorary secretary Paul Foley being influential in its creation.
