Robert Galbraith (judge)
Robert Galbraith (died 1543) was a Scottish Lord of Session (Law Lord). Robert Galbraith was a son of David Galbraith of Kimmerghame. He was one of the advocates appointed when first the College of Senators was instituted, and was admitted a Lord of Session in Ordinary (Senator of the College of Justice) on 7 November 1537. Galbraith was a priest and treasurer of the Chapels Royal at Stirling, in which capacity he received a charter of the lands of Mydwyn Schelis, near Berwick, dated 5 July 1528. He was advocate to Queen Margaret Tudor, wife of James IV of Scotland, and as such made his protest on 1 September 1528 in Parliament against any prejudice to her claim for debt against the Earl of Angus, being occasioned by Angus' forfeiture. Juan De Celaya
Juan de Celaya (Valencia, c.1490 – 6 December 1558) was a Spanish mathematician, physicist, cosmologist, philosopher and theologian. He was a member of the so-called Calculators, using ideas from Merton College. He is known for his work on motion (in kinetics and dynamics) and in logic. Life The son of a minor gentleman who participated in the Reconquest of Granada, he probably studied at the University of Valencia, ending his studies in 1509 at the Collège de Montaigu , Paris. During his studies he was a student of the Nominalist Jean Gaspar Lax and of Dullaert of Ghent, who exerted considerable influence on the ideas and works Celaya would write. Robert Leslie Thomas "'R.L.T." Galbraith (1841 – May 12, 1924) was an Ireland, Irish-born merchant and political figure in British Columbia. He represented Kootenay (provincial electoral district), Kootenay in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1877 to 1886. Biography Robert Leslie Thomas was born in Raphoe, County Donegal in 1841, the son of Professor Galbraith, of Scotland, Scottish descent. He was educated at the Royal and Prior School, Royal College there. In 1870, he came to Fort Steele, British Columbia, Fort Steele on the Kootenay River, at that time known as Galbraith's Ferry, to join his brother John who was operating a ferry and general store there. Personal life Galbraith was born in Brooklyn, New York on , the third child of John and Mary Galbraith (born ), immigrants from Scotland. In 1930, Galbraith was yet-unmarried and living on a farm in Brooklyn; he was an inspector with "Cloth U.S. Goom". By 1942, he had moved to Oceanside, New York and told the Selective Service System that he was retired. Galbraith died on , and is buried at Long Island National Cemetery in Section DSS, Site 17.
