Robert F. Cranny
Robert Francis Cranny (born 2 July 1981) is a musician, songwriter and record producer based in Sydney, Australia. Peachfield In 2019, Cranny began releasing music with new alt-Australiana six-piece, Peachfield. The band is described by Beat magazine as, "...a delicate blend of emotive lyrics, drifting piano, colourful narratives and soaring vocals". Its debut EP "Monuments of Debris" was released in November 2020. The work is described by Beat magazine as, "...a sweeping exploration of Cranny’s own narratives of young Australian lives, set in urban, coastal and rural cities and towns." Folk Implosion
The Folk Implosion is an American band founded in the early 1990s by Lou Barlow and John Davis. It was initially a side-project started by Barlow to explore different territory than that being canvassed with his primary band at the time, Sebadoh. The name is a play on the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. The band was on hiatus from 2004-2020. History Following the release of Sebadoh's ''Bubble and Scrape'' in 1993, Barlow received a tape from Davis, songwriter and librarian, that kicked off their collaboration as a songwriting team and studio recording project. The Folk Implosion released '' Walk Through This World with the Folk Implosion'' on cassette in 1993 on the Communion Label and as a 7" EP in 1994 on Drunken Fish. The band's status was relatively obscure before Larry Clark's film ''Kids'', and its soundtrack, most of which contained original compositions by Barlow and Davis. Pavement (band)
Pavement is an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California, in 1989. For most of their career, the group consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals and guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar and vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion and vocals). Initially conceived as a recording project, the band at first avoided press or live performances, while attracting considerable underground attention with their early releases. Gradually evolving into a more polished band, Pavement recorded five full-length albums and ten EPs over the course of their decade-long career, though they disbanded with some acrimony in 1999 as the members moved on to other projects. ''Havilah '' is the fourth studio album by Australian alternative rockers, the Drones, which was released by ATP Recordings/MGM Distribution in September 2008. It was co-produced by the group with Burke Reid and issued in February 2009 for the United Kingdom and United States markets. The title refers to a biblical town of the same name – "a Shangri-La-esque place with an abundance of gold" – and is the valley from Myrtleford, where they recorded. At the J Awards of 2008, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year. The Drones (Australian Band)
The Drones were an Australian rock band, formed in Perth by mainstay lead vocalist and guitarist Gareth Liddiard in 1997. Fiona Kitschin, his domestic partner, joined on bass guitar and vocals in 2002. Other long-term members include Rui Pereira on bass guitar and then lead guitar; Mike Noga on drums, vocals, harmonica and percussion; and Dan Luscombe on lead guitar, vocals and keyboards. Their second album, '' Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By'' (April 2005), won the inaugural Australian Music Prize. In October 2010 their third studio album, ''Gala Mill'' (September 2006) was listed at No. 21 in the book, ''100 Best Australian Albums''. Gareth Liddiard
Gareth Liddiard (born 20 November 1975) is an Australian musician, best known as a founding member of both The Drones and Tropical Fuck Storm. Musically active since 1997, he has also released a solo album titled ''Strange Tourist'' in 2010. In 2021, Liddiard recorded and performed live with Jim White of the Dirty Three and Chris Abrahams of The Necks as Springtime. Liddiard has often been called one of Australia's greatest songwriters and The Drones song "Shark Fin Blues", penned by Liddiard and Rui Pereira, was voted by the band's contemporaries as the greatest Australian song of all time in 2009. Ben Salter
Ben Salter (born 23 March 1977) is an Australian musician currently based in Hobart, Tasmania, in addition to being a member of bands including Giants of Science, The Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers, Hownowmer and The Young Liberals. Solo career Ben has played hundreds of shows around the world as a solo artist. In 2012 he travelled for five months around Europe collaborating with as many songwriters and artists as possible, playing shows in Spain, Italy, Germany and Iceland. From that extensive tour he was inspired to release his ''European Vacation EP''. As a solo artist he has supported musicians including Cat Power, Built To Spill, Something for Kate, Violent Femmes, Augie March, and Tim Rogers. ''One Tree Hill'' is an American Drama (film and television), drama television series created by Mark Schwahn, which premiered on September 23, 2003, on The WB. After the series' third season, The WB merged with UPN to form The CW, and from September 27, 2006, the series was broadcast by The CW in the United States until the end of its run in 2012. The show is set in the fictional town of Tree Hill in North Carolina and initially follows the lives of two half-brothers, Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), who compete for positions on their school's basketball team, and the drama that ensues from the brothers' romances.
