Robert Ellison (2 February 1614 – 12 January 1678) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1647 and 1660. Ellison was the son of Cuthbert Ellison of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a merchant adventurer, and his wife Jane Isle, daughter of Charles Isle. Colonel Robert Ellison (17903 July 1843) was a British Army officer who fought in the Peninsular War and at the 1815 Battle of Waterloo. Life The second son of Henry Ellison, of Hebburn, County Durham, and Henrietta, daughter of John Isaacson, he joined the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards as an ensign by purchase on 17December 1807. He became a lieutenant and captain on 20December 1812 then saw service at Cádiz, Spain in 1811 and during the Peninsular War from 1812 to 1814. During the Waterloo Campaign he fought at Quatre Bras and Waterloo, for which he was promoted Brevet Major. At the latter battle he fought with the light companies at Hougoumont where "on one occasion, when he was forced to retreat from the orchard to the chateau, he would have been bayoneted by the French, had not the men, with whom he was a great favourite, charged back, and saved his life. Robert Patrick Ellison B.Sc., S.T.L., C.S.Sp. (born 12 February 1942) is the Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Banjul, Gambia. He was born in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He went to Blackrock College secondary school, and earned a Science Degree from University College Dublin., following which he went to Rome to study theology at Gregorian University and in 1970 was awarded an STL in dogma. After three years in Gambia he returned to study at the Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies in Rome. He was ordained a priest on 6 July 1969, for the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. On 25 February 2006 he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Banjul. He was ordained a bishop on 14 May 2006. The Principal Consecrator was Bishop Michael J. Cleary, C. S. Rev. Robert Lee "Skip" Ellison is a Druid priest and liturgist and an author in the fields of Druidry, Magic and divination. He was initiated into a Celtic Traditional Wiccan coven in 1982.
