Robert Curtis (basketball)
Robert Curtis, Jr. (January 15, 1990 – May 26, 2017) was an American football and basketball player. He competed with the Saint John Mill Rats of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL), playing for the team in multiple seasons. Curtis also played with the North County Cobras of the LaBelle Community Football League (LCFL). Early life Curtis was born on January 15, 1990, to Robert Curtis, Sr. and Starlea Hall and was brought up in Pomona, California. When Robert, Jr. was 5 years old, his father was shot and killed. Hall was diagnosed with brain cancer at 45 years of age. High school career Curtis attended Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, California. Along with basketball, he played American football in his sophomore year. Robert George Curtis (25 March 1950 – 6 February 1971) was a British soldier who was officially the first military fatality in the Northern Ireland "Troubles", which was to kill 705 British soldiers. He was the first British soldier to die in the line of duty on the island of Ireland since 1921. The gunman responsible is believed to be Provisional IRA member Billy Reid, who was killed later that year in a gunfight. Robert D. Curtis (June 18, 1935 – August 18, 2013) was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Franklin & Marshall College from 1971 to 1974 and Bucknell University from 1975 to 1985, compiling a career college football coaching record of 80–59–3. Coaching career Waldwick High School Curtis was the first head football coach at Waldwick High School in Waldwick, New Jersey. He led the Waldwick Warriors to a record of 12–20–3 in five seasons, from the school's opening in 1963 through the 1967 season. Franklin & Marshall Curtis was the head football coach at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for four seasons, from 1971 until 1974. Robert Dennis Curtis (25 January 1950 – 19 March 2010) was an English footballer who played as a right full back, most notably for Charlton Athletic. He also represented Mansfield Town and Kettering Town. Bob was born in Langwith Whaley-Thorns in Nottinghamshire and was scouted by Charlton Athletic whilst playing as a striker for local side Shirebrook Town. He signed for Charlton in February 1967, and was given his chance in the first team after Billy Bonds had been sold to West Ham United. Robert M. Curtis (born November 28, 1984) is an American distance runner who ran professionally for the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project. As a student athlete at Villanova, he won the men's 5000 meters at the 2008 NCAA DI National Championship. Over the course of his running career, he struggled with insomnia. Running career High school Curtis attended St. Xavier in Louisville, Kentucky, where he graduated in 2003. As a high school student, he won 19 state titles; 12 as an individual, two as a member of relay squads, and five as part of a team. Robert Curtis Brown (born Robert Nelson Brown, April 27, 1957) is an American television, film, and stage actor. Early life Brown was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was raised in Yardley, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
