Robert Chow
Robert Chow Yung (; born 22 April 1950), BBS, is a Hong Kong journalist and media personality who is a former RTHK radio host. He is currently the spokesman of the pro-Beijing conservative Alliance for Peace and Democracy and founder and leader of the Beijing-approved Silent Majority for Hong Kong movement. Early life Chow studied up to the Form Five level of school education. In 1967, at the age of 17, Chow started his career as a reporter for the now-defunct local tabloid ''The Star'' where his senior colleague Kevin Sinclair described him as a "mere boy". In 1970, he was made a news editor at ''The Star''. Media and communications career In 1974, Chow started working in the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and became chief information officer in 1980. In 1985, he became the editor-in-chief of '' The Standard'', and worked there until the 1990s. Bronze Bauhinia Star
The Bronze Bauhinia Star (, BBS) is the lowest rank in Order of the Bauhinia Star in Hong Kong, created in 1997 to replace the British honours system of the Order of the British Empire after the transfer of sovereignty to People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). It is awarded to persons who have given outstanding service over a long period of time, but in a more limited field or way than that required for the Silver Bauhinia Star. Occupy Central With Love And Peace
Occupy Central with Love and Peace (OCLP) was a single-purpose Hong Kong civil disobedience campaign initiated by Reverend Chu Yiu-ming, Benny Tai and Chan Kin-man on 27 March 2013. The campaign was launched on 24 September 2014, partially leading to the 2014 Hong Kong protests. According to its manifesto, the campaign advocates for an electoral system in Hong Kong that is decided through a democratic process and satisfies international standards of universal and equal suffrage. With the first three stages of the movement – dialogue, deliberation and citizens' authorization – the civil disobedience that follows must be non-violent. The British Nationality (Hong Kong) Selection Scheme, usually known in Hong Kong as simply the British Nationality Selection Scheme (BNSS), was a process whereby the Governor of Hong Kong invited certain classes of people, who were permanent residents of Hong Kong with the right of abode, and who were also considered British nationals under the British Nationality Act 1981, but were not British citizens (with the right of abode in the United Kingdom), to apply to be considered and then be selected to become registered as British citizens under the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990.
