Robert Beattie, an American, Wichita-based, lawyer, is the author of the non-fiction book ''Nightmare in Wichita''. Career ''Nightmare in Wichita'' is about Dennis Rader, a serial killer in Wichita, Kansas who created the name BTK after his modus operandi, "bind, torture, kill". Rader resumed sending letters to media again after a 13-year hiatus after hearing about the book. Right before he was going to publish it, Dennis Rader was arrested and then convicted as the BTK Killer. As a result, Beattie quickly wrote an epilogue. Robert Ethelbert Beattie (March 20, 1875 – May 5, 1925) was a Canadian politician and pharmacist. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada as a Member of the Liberal Party in the 1921 election to represent the riding of Kootenay East and on February 9, 1922, he accepted an office of emolument under the Crown. He was defeated in the 1917 election as a Laurier Liberal Prior to the 1917 federal election in Canada, the Liberal Party of Canada split into two factions. Robert Beattie (24 January 1916 – 21 September 2002) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Kilwinning Rangers, Kilmarnock, Preston North End and Wigan Athletic. He made one appearance for Scotland in 1938. Beattie started his senior career with Kilmarnock and scored 43 goals in 120 Scottish Football League appearances for the club. He was sold to Preston North End in October 1937 for £2,500. He joined a club which already had several Scottish players, including Andy Beattie and Bill Shankly.
