Robert Asaro-Angelo
Robert Asaro-Angelo is an American labor leader and commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Biography Asaro-Angelo was raised in a union family and is a son of a longtime Atlantic City labor organizer. From 2010 until 2017, he was Eastern Regional Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor, where he managed the department's regional activities and coordinated federal efforts on the regional, state and local levels. He also served on intergovernmental work groups such as the White House Hurricane Sandy Task Force, White House Task Force on Puerto Rico, Regional U.S. Interagency Councils on Homeless and FEMA's Recovery Support Function Leadership Group. New Jersey Department Of Labor And Workforce Development
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of New Jersey. The New Jersey Civil Service Commission is an independent body within the New Jersey state government under the auspices of the department. Initially constituted in the late-1940s, pursuant to P.L. 1948, c.446, as the Department of Labor and Industry, the department is one of 16 executive branch departments in New Jersey state government. Governor Jim McGreevey's enactment of P.L. 2004, c.39 in June 2004 changed the name of the department from the New Jersey "Department of Labor" to the New Jersey "Department of Labor and Workforce Development."
