Robert A. Wolf
Robert A Wolf (born Oct 6, 1961) is an American electronic musician and independent film composer from Evansville, Indiana. He has been President and CEO of Wolfymusic recording label and Wolfymusic studios. Robert's first film score in 1992 won him second place in the World fest film awards. Other awards include the Miller High Life Rock to Riches compilation record made for WYER radio in Mt. Carmel Il. two years in a row (1982)(1983) And first place in the Ambient category for August 2009 Our Stage.com song contest for his son'No Horizon'from his 2009 'Krakatoa' album.Robert'salbums Sanctuary(1993), Paradox(1999), and Krakatoa(2009) all released on the Wolfymusic label. Much of Robert's music from his 'Krakatoa' album has been featured on The Weather Channel's Local on the 8's segment. Robert works extensively with director James Arnett anA.I.A. The Weather Channel (United States)
The Weather Channel (TWC) is an American pay television channel owned by Weather Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Allen Media Group. The channel's headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. Launched on May 2, 1982, the channel broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news and analysis, along with documentaries and entertainment programming related to weather. A sister network, Weatherscan, was a digital cable and satellite service that offered 24-hour automated local forecasts and radar imagery. Weatherscan was officially shut down on December 9, 2022. The Weather Channel also produces outsourced weathercasts, notably for CBS News and RFD-TV. The Weather Channel was a subsidiary of the Weather Company until the latter was bought by IBM in 2016. Local On The 8s
''Local on the 8s'' (or the Local Forecast) is a program segment that airs on the American network The Weather Channel. It provides viewers with information on current and forecasted weather conditions for their respective area; a version of this segment is also available on the channel's national satellite feed that features forecasts for each region of the United States. The name comes from the timing of the segment, as airs at timeslots that end in "8" (examples: 9:18 and 12:48); because of this manner of scheduling, the forecast segments air on the channel in ten-minute intervals. From 2006-2013, each forecast segment had usually been preceded by a promo for one of The Weather Channel's programs or services, leading into the segment with the announcer stating "And now, your ''Local on the 8s''".
