Robbie Ventura (born May 5, 1971) is an American former professional racing cyclist. Career Early career Robbie graduated with honors from Lake Forest College Lake Forest College is a private liberal arts college in Lake Forest, Illinois. While working toward his bachelor's degree, he played on the Forester hockey team, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament, and was named to the All-American Collegiate Cycling Team. In 2008, he was inducted into the LFC Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in both hockey and cycling. Navigators Insurance Cycling Team (''UCI Code:'' NIC) was an elite road bicycle racing cycling team in the United States. Navigators focused on USA Cycling and UCI America Tour events. The team has competed in every Tour de Georgia. The team was founded in 1992 by Raymond Cipollini and James Eichvalds. The team turned Pro in 1994 and hired Edward Beamon to be its director. Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team
U.S. Postal Service Pro Cycling Team was a United States-based professional road bicycle racing team. On June 15, 2004, the Discovery Channel signed a deal to become sponsor of the team for the 2004–2007 seasons and its name changed to Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team (). From 2005 until 2007, the team was one of the 20 teams that competed in the new UCI ProTour. As part of the sponsorship deal, Lance Armstrong, the team's undisputed leader, provided on-air appearances for the Discovery Networks TV channels. The deal did not affect the rights of secondary sponsor OLN, now known as NBC Sports Network in the US, to air major cycling events such as the Tour de France, although the two channels are competitors.
