Robbie Smith (rugby Union)
Robbie Smith (born 26 September 1998) is a Scottish rugby union player who is a Stage 3 Scottish Rugby Academy player assigned to Northampton Saints. His usual position is hooker. Amateur career He started playing rugby with Newton Stewart before then playing with Ayr. He was assigned Ayr in the Pro draft for the Scottish Premiership sides from Glasgow Warriors for the season 2017-18. Smith has played for Scotland U16, U18 and U20 teams. Professional career Smith is enrolled in the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy as a Stage 3 player. Stage 3 players are aligned to a professional club and given regional support. Smith made his Glasgow Warriors debut in the Pro14 match against Ospreys at Scotstoun Stadium on 25 January 2019. The Warriors won the match 9-3. On 3 May 2019, Smith signed his first professional contract with Bedford Blues in the English RFU Championship for the 2019-20 season. Dumfries

The Scottish Premiership (referred to as the Tennents Premiership for sponsorship reasons) is an amateur league competition for Scottish rugby union clubs. First held in 1973, it is the top division of the Scottish League Championship. The most recent (2019) champions are Ayr, while the most successful club is Hawick, who have won the competition twelve times. Ten clubs contest the league, with the bottom club relegated to the Scottish National League Division One and second-bottom club involved in a play-off. The top level of club rugby in Scotland are the two professional teams – Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby – that play in the United Rugby Championship. Premiership Rugby, officially known as Gallagher Premiership Rugby, or the Gallagher Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is an English professional rugby union competition. The Premiership has consisted of thirteen clubs since 2021, and is the top division of the English rugby union system. Scotstoun Stadium
Scotstoun Stadium is an athletics and rugby union stadium in Scotstoun, an area in the West End of Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow Warriors have trained at the facility since 2009 and have played their home games here from the 2012–13 season onwards. It has a capacity of 9,708 for rugby union. Between 2012 and 2015, the Stadium hosted the Scotland Sevens – the Scottish leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, but then the leg was moved to a new host country, France in 2016. History The facility first opened in 1915 as Scotstoun Showgrounds after the land was developed by the Glasgow Agricultural Society as a venue for agricultural shows. It was soon being used as a venue for sporting events and as a result the Grandstand was erected.
